Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
Symptoms of depression such as –
o Excessive eating & sleeping
o Can be mild to debilitating
o Usually occurs late fall
through winter
o Possibly caused by an
increased production of
melatonin, a sleep-related
hormone
Treatment –
Spend more time outdoors  Increase light in the home 
Drink adequate amounts of H2O  Eat nutritiously  Exercise
regularly  Get adequate rest  Avoid alcohol 
