Once you have met your experienced guide and been equipped with mountain bikes, your day commences with a cruise from Queenstown on board the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw. On disembarking at Walter Peak you are then driven by van to Mavora Lakes. As you drive past grazing sheep and cattle, learn about local farming. What to bring - Guided Cycling Day pack, drinks, snacks, shoes / boots (non slip), waterproof jacket, warm sweater / fleece jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, sunhat, insect repellent and a camera. We provide Mountain bikes and safety helmets (guided cycling only). Then cycle the quiet country road through beech forest and open tussock grasslands. Along the way enjoy stunning views of the Von River, surrounding mountains and snow-covered Mount Earnslaw at the head of Lake Wakatipu.
