the Bobcat Club
Our Mission Statement
The Montana State University Bobcat Club’s primary focus is to
secure funds for athletic scholarships for student-athletes and to
promote academic success, athletic excellence, and the betterment of Montana State University as a whole.
Where Does My Contribution Go?
The money raised by the Bobcat Club is used to fund scholarships
for student-athletes at Montana State University. The total cost of a
scholarship, which includes tuition, fees, room, board, and books,
for in-state is $14,500* and $26,620* for out of state students. The
cost of funding scholarships is staggering and continues to rise. We
need your help!
Unrestricted Bobcat Club Annual Gifts
Membership contributions to the Bobcat Club are considered
unrestricted gifts. For example, if you give the Bobcat Club $1,350
for the general scholarship fund each year; the full value of your
donation is used to determine seating priority, parking priority, and
recognition level.
Matching Gifts
A great number of companies will match employee contributions to
the Bobcat Club. If your company is a participant, you will receive
credit for the total contribution, less any benefits received. This
means you can double your personal gift and increase your membership level. Some restrictions may apply, please contact our office
to discuss.
Gifts In Kind
Goods and services that Bobcat Athletics can use during the course
of the year that normally must be purchased are often as valuable as
cash gifts. Examples include air travel, restaurants, hotel accommodations, office equipment, furniture, and printing services. The MSU
Athletic Department reserves the right to accept gifts in kind rather
than cash gifts at its discretion based upon the department’s need
for the gifts offered. No gift in kind will be accepted by the Bobcat
Club unless approved by the director of athletics.
Tax Benefits
When you complete the membership application you are given an
opportunity to accept all or part of your benefits package and adjust
your charitable deduction accordingly. Please keep in mind that if
you exercise your right to purchase tickets based on your priority as
a booster, you may only take an 80% deduction after subtracting the
value of other benefits you elect to receive. If you have questions
regarding your charitable contributions to MSU athletics, it is best to
contact your accountant for advice.

Cat/Griz Ticket Priority
Priority handling of home and away Cat/Griz tickets for both football
and men’s basketball will be allocated by donor level (refer to the
benefit grid). In order to purchase Cat/Griz home and away tickets,
your Bobcat Club Membership must be paid in full. Due to the limited
number of tickets available, we cannot guarantee that we will be able
to fill all ticket requests for Cat/Griz football games. Priority is determined by donor level and ticket assignment priority. The number of
requests at each priority level will determine the allotment of tickets
at each level. Cat/Griz tickets will not be assigned until after the first
home game of the season.
Benefit Deadline Is March 31, 2011
The Bobcat Club benefit deadline is March 31, 2011. We ask that you
make your 2011 payment in full by that date to receive benefits for seat
location at home games, program recognition, and post-season play.

The Bobcat Club is offering the Identity

SAFEGUARD you and your solution for the fastest growing crime in
family from Identity Theft America, identity theft. The Bobcat Club
believes that this is a great way to help
protect our members and their families and provide much needed support to all of our student-athletes.
For $12.95 per month, the Identity Theft Shield covers Bobcat Club
members and their spouses or significant others. For an additional

Sports Specific Clubs
Montana State University Athletics has seven, sports specific clubs. This
gives you, the donor, additional opportunities to see your funds specifically support your favorite sports.
Monies raised by these clubs are funneled directly into each sport’s budget, and all expenditures are approved by the Director of Athletics, the
sport’s Head Coach and its Board of Director’s.
