Course Director for the Pre-‐Professional Year program, Linda Gamblin, says, “The students will start the year with an exceptional opportunity – firstly witnessing Sydney Dance Company Artistic Director Rafael Bonachela working on the choreographic process for his new work Frame of Mind, and also observing former Forsythe Company dancers Anna Catalina Roman Horcajo and Thomas McManus working with the Sydney Dance Company dancers to remount William Forsythe’s masterpiece, Quintett. Sydney Dance Company Executive Director Anne Dunn says, “After the success of Sydney Dance Company’s inaugural Pre-‐
Professional Year we are even more excited to see where our second year will take us. Last year we trained 25 dancers in all aspects of a professional dance career, and were thrilled to offer two of our graduates – Sam Young-‐Wright from Canberra, and Josephine Weise from Queensland, the chance to join Sydney Dance Company. Four additional graduates have also been offered Associate Dancer contracts in 2015, and will appear alongside members of the ensemble in works including Sydney Symphony’s Le Grand Tango in April.
