PIPA ProAM European Snow Polo Championship 2014 – 2nd tour event in Squadra
Fine weather, fast games and
a big audience
1/
After the start in Innichen/Italy, where the Italian national team only ended on last position, the
Squadra Italia engaged no other than Benjamin Polledo. Polledo (+3) and his team mate Andrea
Dhjabi (0) came to win in order to get back in the race for the PIPA ProAm European Chamionship
Title 2014. “This is what we want, to continuously raise the level and become more and more well
known so that highly recognized ProAms join our team!”, says PIPA President Dr Uwe Seebacher.
He is playing the 2014 winter tour with three newcomers such as Paul Kaukal, with whom
Seebacher became Vice Snow Polo Champion in 2013, and who is no longer available for
the national team. Julia Pressler, Niki Lasser and Andreas Ansari (all 0) did a great job and
significantly improved their game on snow. Seebacher himself showed cool runs and moves
and hit goal after goal. Polledo: “For me, Uwe is one of the players showing high level polo
that people want to see!”
On Friday Italy defeated Austria 9:5 and in the
second game Ladislav Agardi (+2) and
Stanislav Herko (0) scored 9:5 against the
Czech Republic with Marek Polan and Katarina
Stankova (both 0). Sean Dayus: “The games
were fast and the local organization of Major
Sigi Steurer did a perfect grooming job!” On
Saturday the higher temperatures and light
snowfall also had an impact on the arena. Due
to this, the games were not so fast as on the
first day. Even though Austria was in the lead
until chukka 3, the Slovakians could finally defeat them 12:10. Niki Lasser: “It was a big surprise to almost fight the Slovakians down, but
Uwe is a perfect playmaker and this is why a
victory was in sight!”

The Italians seemed to have a home run as
they played 16:8 against the Czech Republic,
on day 2 playing with Marek Polan and Pavel
Ivanyi (0). Ivanyi: “Polledo is just amazingly fast
and it was nice playing against him!” Sunday
was just incredible. Many media representatives, TV stations and more spectators than
expected created a fantastic atmosphere for
the final games. Austria defeated the Czech
Republic 8:4 and the Italians won the second
tour event 10:5 against the Slovakian National
Team.

Tour will already have six or more events.
The tour is the world’s largest Snow Polo
Tour and for the first time creates media values for the polo sport in the millions. “This
is what Polo needs – professional marketing,
communication and organization, as only
then more and more good and sustainable
partners will join our community!”, states
Seebacher on the run to visit and scout
Beach Polo tour locations.
