The detailed schedule and exact place will follow in October 2013 but here is already the first draft: Meetings: Wednesday, 27th November: 16:00 Team & Industry Info Meeting in Press Center with distribution of the big bibs and the parking stickers 17:15 Athletes-Meeting 18:00 Athletes – Opening – Get together (a nice get together to meet each other and exchange the experience from the summer), details to the meeting place will follow Thursday, 28th November: Season Opening Press Meeting with the top three World Cup athletes (like in Gällivare, no stiff press conference but coordinated interview possibilities with the athletes for the press), Time and place tbc Athletes’ Photo-Shooting in Kuusamo: Official athletes photo shooting in collaboration with the Industry partners is taking place in Kuusamo from Wednesday 27th November to Thursday 28th November from 09:00 – 16:00h in the team area in one container (same place as last year). Income tax information for prize money: • The current Norwegian tax rate for non resident athletes is 15%. • Due to a special tax convention between Norway and USA and Russia, income tax will not be deducted by the OC – “the income shall be taxable only in the State of which the sportsman is a resident” • Tax will be deducted by the OC according to the Norwegian Foreign Artist Taxation Act, and taxes will be paid by the OC according to the regular tax legislation in Norway. ATA Carnet The ATA Carnet is an international document for the temporary, duty-free admission of goods. With the ATA Carnet Swiss and foreign customs formalities are completed using one form. The ATA Carnet can be obtained from Chambers of Commerce and Industry and releases the holder from any obligation to provide a guarantee when crossing the border. In Switzerland the Chambers of Commerce and Industry provide information on the conditions for receiving a Carnet, please see http://www.cci.ch/. The ATA Carnet may be used for several border crossings and is valid for one year. Instead of national customs documents, the ATA Carnet can be used for imports, 14 exports and transits purposes. The advantage is the swift passage through customs. The ATA Carnet has a uniform appearance for all contracting parties to the Convention on Temporary Admission of 26 June 1990 (the so-called Istanbul Convention). It can be used in more than 60 countries. When opening the ATA Carnet, the complete description of the goods must be (cover sheet reverse) present. For the holder of the ATA Carnet, it is always possible to bring the goods back into the domestic customs territory. The use of the Carnet ATA is applied to durable goods but not to nondurable goods. Accommodation (World Cup Rules Art. 13) • Booking according the FIS Rules via FIS Online registration system • The OC offers following accommodation (all full board) : o Radisson Blu Park Fornebu (four star hotel 20 minutes from the venue) o Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica (four star hotel next to the venue) Prices TBD 4. Transport (World Cup Rules Art. 11) • Official airport: Oslo Airport The organizing committee will arrange transportation between the airport and the hotels. Transportation have to be booked through the FIS online system. Deadline: 25 February • Shuttle service hotel-venue: Holmenkollen Park Hotel - no shuttle service (walking distance) Radisson Blu Park Fornebu- shuttle service at frequent hours 5. Payment (World Cup Rules Art. 10 and 13) • Accommodation costs : The teams will pay for the accommodation in the reimbursement/financial office at Holmenkollen Park Hotel. Persons from the pay lists will be paid by the OC directly. Teams (team captains) will pay directly to the hotels for all extras (room service, movies, drinks etc.) • Carrying costs/Reimbursement : The Financial Office is located close to the Service Center and will be open from Thursday-Sunday 08.00-20.00. All payment will be done by bank transfer 57 6. Waxing facilities (World Cup Rules Art. 14) • Wax cabins: available from 02/03/2014 at 12:00 • Waxing trucks: teams arriving with trucks have to inform the OC before 01/12/2013 with exact measurements of the truck and details of the needs 7. Regulations of radio equipment: • The import, export and the operation of radio equipment in Norway is regulated by national law. Permits for the use of radio transmission equipment must be requested according to national specifications. • Information : www.npt.no 8. Regulations of Visa: • Remember that citizens of some countries will need visa for visiting Norway. Please check with your embassy if you need a visa for Norway. • For an official letter of invitation, please send a request to team@holmenkollen.com. 9. Income tax information for prize money: • The current norwegian tax rate for non resident athletes is 15% • Tax will be deducted by the OC according to the Norwegian Foreign Artist Taxation Act, and taxes will be paid by the OC according to the regular tax legislation in Norway. • The athlete may contact the International Tax Collection Authority skattvest@skatteetaten.no for a certificate confirming that the tax has been paid in Norway. 58 10. Income tax information for prize money (according to the Swedish law 2013): • Income tax for a citizen in an EU/EFTA country is 15 %. • Income tax and social contribution for a citizen in another country than EU/EFTA is o 35,32 % if the prize winner is born 1987 or earlier o 26,40 % if the prize winner is born 1988 or later • Citizens from Switzerland, Canada and USA can reduce the tax burden to 15 % if the athletes provide a certificate that confirm that the athletes pay social contributions in their home country.
