Dear all
As in the year’s before we will organize a couple of information meeting, a photo shooting
and a season opening Press Meeting with the top three World Cup athletes in Kuusamo.
The detailed schedule and exact place will follow in October 2013 but here is already the
first draft:
Meetings:
Wednesday, 27th November:
16:00 Team & Industry Info Meeting in Press Center with distribution of the big bibs and
the parking stickers
17:15 Athletes-Meeting
18:00 Athletes – Opening – Get together (a nice get together to meet each other and
exchange the experience from the summer), details to the meeting place will follow
Thursday, 28th November:
Season Opening Press Meeting with the top three World Cup athletes (like in
Gällivare, no stiff press conference but coordinated interview possibilities with the
athletes for the press), Time and place tbc
Athletes’ Photo-Shooting in Kuusamo:
Official athletes photo shooting in collaboration with the Industry partners is taking place in
Kuusamo from Wednesday 27th November to Thursday 28th November from 09:00 –
16:00h in the team area in one container (same place as last year).
Individual appointments can be made on Friday and Saturday with Nordic Focus directly –
contact Marco Felgenhauer +49 172 57 338 52.
Note: Athletes do not need take their equipment (skis, poles, boots) with them. Everything
will be prepared.

• The FIS season accreditation will be valid. Requests for additionnal accreditation
and parking cards must be send via the FIS Online System.
• Requested additional accreditation cards can be picked up at : Accreditation
office is in Hotel Rukahovi, near reception, opening time daily from 09 :00 to 19 :00
2. Race/Competition Office

3. Accommodation (World Cup Rules Art. 13)
• Booking according the FIS Rules via FIS Online registration system
• The OC offers following accommodation (full board included):
o Three star hotel Rantasipi Rukahovi next to the venue:
99 € per person in double room, single rooms outside the quota: 132 Euro
o Three star apartments (RukaTonttu, RukaSuites, AurinkoRinne, RukaVillage,
Rantasipi apartments) next to the venue:
99 € per person (minimum number of persons occur)
• Additional information about the accommodation will be given to the teams after
receiving preliminary entry and accommodation request
• Price for additional accommodation outside of the quota: 99 € per person in double
room or apartment (minimum number of persons occurs)
• Price for additional single rooms outside of the quota: 132 €
4. Transport (World Cup Rules Art. 11)
• Official airport : Kuusamo and Oulu
• The organizing committee will arrange transportation between the airports and the
hotels. 1 transport (from and to the airport) free of charge. Price for additional
transport :
− 125 € for Kuusamo airport (up to 7 persons=125 €, 8-17 p.=195 €)
− 575 € for Oulu airport (up to 7 persons=575 €, 8-17 p.=655 €)
− 540 € for Rovaniemi airport (up to 7 persons=540 €, 8-17 p.=620 €)
• Information to the Shuttle service
- (hotels – venue) : no shuttle service (walking distance)
5. Payment (World Cup Rules Art. 10 and 13)
• Accommodation costs: Teams will pay directly in the accommodation office until
30th November (persons from the pay lists will be paid by the OC directly).
• Carrying costs/Reimbursement :
− Payment on Friday 29/11/2013 in financial office (media center) at 18 :00
− All payment will be done by bank transfer
6. Waxing facilities (World Cup Rules Art. 14)
• Wax cabins : available from 25/11/2013 at 8 :00
• Waxing trucks : teams arriving with trucks have to inform FIS and the OC before

• The keys to the cabins are available at the competition office. The deposit is 100
€/team. Keys return to Ski Cafe/service area on the day of departure.
• Parking cards can be picked up at the competition office same time with the keys.

7. Regulations of radio equipment:
• The import, export and the operation of radio equipment in Finland is regulated by
national law. Permits for the use of radio transmission equipment must be
requested according to national specifications.

8. Regulations of Visa:
• Remember that citizens of some countries will need visa for visiting Finland. Please
check with your embassy if you need a visa for Finland.

9. Income tax information for prize money:
• Income tax of European and non-European citizen is 15% (except CAN / USA)

Persons outside quota and race period will pay directly to the hotel.

− Payment on Friday 6 December 2013 in the financial office at the Radisson
Blu Lillehammer Hotel

9. Income tax information for prize money:
• The current Norwegian tax rate for non resident athletes is 15%.
• Due to a special tax convention between Norway and USA and Russia, income tax
will not be deducted by the OC – “the income shall be taxable only in the State of
which the sportsman is a resident”
• Tax will be deducted by the OC according to the Norwegian Foreign Artist Taxation
Act, and taxes will be paid by the OC according to the regular tax legislation in
Norway. The athlete may contact the International Tax Collection Authority
skattvest@skatteetaten.no for a certificate confirming that the tax has been paid in
Norway.

Union.
ATA Carnet
The ATA Carnet is an international document for the temporary, duty-free admission of
goods. With the ATA Carnet Swiss and foreign customs formalities are completed
using one form. The ATA Carnet can be obtained from Chambers of Commerce and
Industry and releases the holder from any obligation to provide a guarantee when
crossing the border. In Switzerland the Chambers of Commerce and Industry provide
information on the conditions for receiving a Carnet, please see http://www.cci.ch/.
The ATA Carnet may be used for several border crossings and is valid for one year.
Instead of national customs documents, the ATA Carnet can be used for imports,

exports and transits purposes. The advantage is the swift passage through customs.
The ATA Carnet has a uniform appearance for all contracting parties to the
Convention on Temporary Admission of 26 June 1990 (the so-called Istanbul
Convention). It can be used in more than 60 countries.
When opening the ATA Carnet, the complete description of the goods must be (cover
sheet reverse) present. For the holder of the ATA Carnet, it is always possible to bring
the goods back into the domestic customs territory.
The use of the Carnet ATA is applied to durable goods but not to nondurable goods.

10th. For room cancellation after December 10th, 2013, the FIS World Cup Rules
point 13.2 applies. This means that the respective National Ski Association has to
pay the difference between effective and reserved rooms (tolerance 10%).

drive on Sunday. For that we will provide a special permission to drive in Germany
on Sunday.

Highway tax sticker for all cars, vans or trucks (vignette):
In Switzerland you need a „highway tax sticker“ for every car, van or truck. You can buy
the sticker on every gas station and also at the boarder. The tax sticker costs CHF
40.00 (driving without a sticker costs CHF 200.00). The sticker ist valid for one year.
The tax sticker of the year 2013 is valid until the end of January 2014.

Night and Sunday truck prohibition
In Switzerland, there is a night and Sunday truck ban. The 1st January has to be
regarded as a Sunday. The night ban is from 10.00 p.m. to 05.00 a.m.
Please make sure, that you order the “Sunday and night driving allowance for trucks” , if
you drive by night (22.00 – 05.00) or on Sundays.

Lenzerheide is on 1475 meters altitude. Please make sure that you bring snow chains
with you. If there is a lot of snow, snow chains must be installed between Churwalden
and Lenzerheide. The alternative route leads from Chur to Thusis and from there to

The OC is bothered to organise an early snow removal at the arriving day.

The organising committee will arrange transportation between the airports and the

• Fastest way to Drammen: Flytoget (Airport Express Train) from Oslo Airport
Gardermoen to Drammen. The OC will provide personnel who can guide you
properly at the airport. Runners and head will take express train/flytoget and
baggage will be transported by car right to the hotel. There will also be people to
help you at the railway station in Drammen.

The Financial Office is located close to the Service Center and will be open from
Thursday-Sunday 08.00-20.00.
