Disaster Relief and Preparedness In 2014, Sampoerna held the 6th SETC Expo in Surabaya. This two-day event was dedicated to promote and help to expand the market of promising small businesses to a wider community “Sampoerna untuk Indonesia” (Sampoerna for Indonesia) is program umbrella on Contributions & CSR whose mission to advance both the nation and people of Indonesia, as well as to provide inspiration, motivation and means for those who seek the betterment of themselves and their country. Sampoerna untuk Indonesia initiatives consist of four main pillars, namely Access to Education, Economic Opportunity, Empowering Women and Disaster Relief and Preparedness. The SAR team carried out humanitarian missions by responding to several fl ood disasters in Jakarta, Karawang, Bandung, Aceh, Manado, Indramayu, and Pekalongan. The team also responded to the eruption of Mount Sinabung, North Sumatra, and Mount Kelud, East Java. MALANG 1 SKT Approximately During these missions, the SAR team provided medical services, food supplies and other necessary supports to around 8,000 people 700 people received disaster preparedness training at the SAR-TC in 2014. Approximately 2,000 people Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Empowering Women were educated about the importance of children’s rights to education, the risks of child labor, and the importance of a safe work environment through the dissemination of information on Agricultural Labor Practices (ALP) This was carried out as part of the 2014 Farmers Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Day conducted in the tobacco growing areas of Banyuwangi, Lumajang, and Lombok Sampoerna is committed to fostering an environment that empowers women, internally and externally, to reach their full potential to achieve equal opportunity and economic security free of discrimination. The Sampoerna Rescue Team carried out humanitarian missions by responding to several disaster occurrence throughout Indonesia. More than 500 women were benefited from this program Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) program aims to help farmers in improving tobacco and clove productivity and quality as well as maintaining the sustainability of its production. On the other hand, Agricultural Labor Practices (ALP) aims to eliminate child labor practices as well as harassment and violence towards tobacco and clove plantations. GAP/ALP are delivered in the form of assistance to tobacco and clove farmers in order to improve the production quality, while at the same time enhancing quality and protecting the soil and environment, as well as to ensure that the labor practices are in accordance with prevailing regulation. Safety, Health, and Environment Sampoerna is committed to providing a safe workplace. Health and safety are of paramount concerns, with an emphasis on proper work areas, prevention of injury and disease, prevention of environmental pollution and the reduction of threats to the safety of its employees. Sampoerna is one of the largest buyers of domestic tobacco leaves and cloves in Indonesia. Since 2010, Sampoerna has conducted the GAP/ALP education to farmers in tobacco-producing areas throughout Java and Nusa Tenggara, and continued to be implemented to clove farmers in 2013 who spread throughout Java, Bali and Celebes During planting and harvesting events, more than 50,000 clove and tobacco farmers benefi ted from GAP/ALP initiatives such as free medical services, fertilizers distributions and clove seedling
