David did everything with energy, enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoyed his work, friends and music. He thrived in the outdoors and was a superb fly fisherman, skier, snowboarder and golfer. He was especially adept at Sea-Run Cutthroat and Steelhead fishing on the North Fork of the Stillaguamish and Tolt Rivers. David also fished extensively on the Olympic Peninsula Rivers and in British Columbia and Alberta. David died in a snowboarding accident at Alpental Ski Resort in Washington State on December 7, 2005. “Dave’s friends were his real career in his life. He liked nothing more than connecting with people, making friends and bringing them joy. He was interested in every person he met and found a place for them in his heart. Dave wasn’t a collector of material things- he was a collector of friends and a lover of family.” David’s family and his many, many friends miss him immensely and will love him forever… Its Mission includes providing skiers and snowboarders with training and education, rescue equipment and knowledgeable teaching instructors. To this end, the Foundation has donated BCA tracker beacons and accompanying safety backpacks to local ski patrols, granted scholarships to local ski patrollers to attend the APP Workshop and the International Snow Science Workshop, which concentrates on skiing and snowboarding safety.
