Christmas Potluck workers: L to R: Joan Zeoli, Sharon Hegstrom, Louise Davis, Donna Bergeron, Mary Chaikowsky, Michele Buelow Art Divine – lots of great art … Floyd Lawrence, Art Bazaar chair Christmas Pot Luck – Our Christmas Potluck was fun and the food was yummy. We had a wonderful team of helpers pulled together by Hospitality Committee Chair Sharon Hegstrom. Sixty guests attended the affair, and everyone was ready for a party and seemed to have a good time. Penny Fox played music on her keyboard adding a festive air to the occasion. Michele Buelow put together the raffle. The clean-up folks were awesome too, we couldn’t have done it without you! Thanks to all who helped in any way to make the evening a nice event. The gallery was filled with beautiful framed and bagged art. Penny Fox expertly managed the receiving. Bea Pappas, event chair, and Bill Pappas took charge of the hanging. Helpers were Kathy Taylor, Michele Buelow, and George Buelow. No small feat for so much art. Sales totaled $3272, a 25% increase over last year. Library News Penny Fox on the keyboard at the Christmas Potluck. Floyd Lawrence, FMBAA President Painting Raffle Benefit Portrait Group NEW Minis went on sale at the Open House Paint the Beach 2016! We are beginning to plan for the next PTB festival during the week Nov. 7-13 next fall. Save the date and plan to participate and help us with this terrific event. It gets bigger and better each year as the word spreads among artists and patrons. The 2015 PTB festival was a tremendous success with 60 participating artists. It brought in over $6000 thanks to a lot of helpers and chairmen who organized their facet of the event and was a great experience for those participating. Michele Buelow and Marie Crist will co-chair the event this year. Thank you so much. But we need some members to step up and help in a few areas. We need donations for the painting raffle. There are many ways to help and each job is important to the whole. Please let me know if you can step up and become involved with this project. We need you!! The above painting donated by Pauline Healey will be raffled off to benefit FMBAA Portrait Group. Tickets ($2 for one and 3 for $5) are available at the FMBAA. The raffle will be held at the February 4th Potluck “A Catered Affair”. Donation to FMBAA in Memory of Neale Baltz The FMBAA has received a $5,000 donation from Mary Baltz Curran. Her note to FMBAA was as follows: “This donation is in memory of my parents Neale and Dick Baltz. Neale was an avid spirited member of FMBAA for 20+ years until 2008. She passed away at age 103 in 2012. The club brought so much joy to both my mom and dad. They loved the potlucks, visiting artists and workshops but most of all the camaraderie! Please use this memorial to keep up the great venue you provide! Sincerely, Mary Baltz Curran” The FMBAA Board will use this donation to enhance the building signage and exterior/grounds.
