Several manor houses have stood on the site, the last being The Manor House, the Elizabethan-style courtyard house built in the mid 19th century. This Grade II* listed building incorporates stained glass, the ornate hand carved staircase and the spectacular chimney stacks from the 1636 house. The Manor House is now a hotel and conference centre.
