Introduction
This document is intended to maintain the integrity of BrainPOP® as a brand,
by providing guidelines for consistency throughout the graphics of the
company and its products.
Web pages are provided within this guide that link to relative graphic files.
Graphics are provided for an assortment of media. Below are guidelines for
general use:
FOR WEB: JPG (lo res), PDF (RGB), EPS (RGB), FLA
FOR PRINT: PDF (CMYK), EPS (CMYK), TIFF
FOR SPOT-COLOR PRINTING: PDF (Pantone), EPS (Pantone),
PDF (CMYK), EPS (CMYK), TIFF
This guide’s reference images have been formatted for the web, unless specifically identified as
printable examples. Therefore, color values among different color modes (e.g. RGB vs. Pantone)
will not appear uniform. This is to demonstrate the importance of choosing the correct color
mode for each instance of a graphic. Be assured that colors will appear correct in the proper
media.

Logos
All relative files can be found at www.brainpop.com/branding/logos.
5
BrainPOP logo / Size
24 px / 0.33 in
The BrainPOP logo is designed to reproduce at a
minimum height of 24 pixels or 0.33 inches.
There is no maximum size.
Do not stretch or distort the logo.
The trademark symbol remains proportional
to the logo; it never changes size.
© 1999–2011 BrainPOP. All rights reserved.
6
BrainPOP logo / Isolation area
In order for the BrainPOP logo to stand out, it must
retain a minimum area of surrounding space. This
area is measured around the perimeter of the word
BrainPOP — not the entire logo. (If the logo must be
centrally aligned with another object, it looks best to use
the BrainPOP text as a reference point.)
The surrounding area is equal to the cap height of POP,
(represented with the letter P, in the image to the left).
Do not crop the logo in any way.
The isolation area is a minimum; increased space is
always preferable.
Use the logo on black or in a circle for blue or
dark backgrounds.

On black
In a circle
With tagline
The logo on black may be used in
any instance in which the logo must
appear on a dark color.
The logo in a circle may be used in
any instance in which the logo must
appear on a dark color.
When appearing with the logo, the
tagline is set in Interstate Bold
Condensed.
The BrainPOP text is used to center
the logo within a white circle,
measuring 1.66 times larger than the
width of the logo. (Because of the
prominent surrounding shape, the
usual isolation area of the BrainPOP
logo is reduced.)
The tagline’s width is 1.33 times
larger than the width of BrainPOP,
and centered under the BrainPOP
text, with space equal to one and a
half times the tagline’s cap height
between.
Should the logo with tagline need
to appear at a small size, the type
should be adjusted for readability. If
the tagline can not be easily made
readable, it should not be included.
The logo with tagline looks best
when centered within a square area.
that maintains the BrainPOP logo’s
regular isolation area.

BrainPOP Educators logo / Variations
With tagline
With URL
Use the logo with tagline when it is used prominently.
Do not use it at very small sizes, or when it is featured
with other logos.
Use the logo with URL primarily for printed
material. It may used for the web, but not when the
BrainPOP Educators homepage is indicated in
close proximity, or when the logo itself is linked. For
example, an email letterhead would be an appropriate
web application.

BrainPOP Educators logo / Variations
With tagline and URL
Use the logo with tagline and URL when it should
appear most prominent.
Use the logo primarily for printed material. It may used

28
Formatting multiple logos
When BrainPOP® logos appear
on the same screen or page, the
BrainPOP text of the logos must
be scaled equally. The BrainPOP
Educators text should be scaled to
the entire height of the BrainPOP
text.
If the logos must be lined up, then
the baselines or side boundaries of
the BrainPOP text must align. As
always, the logos must retain their
minimal isolation area.

29
Branding
30
Tagline
By default, the tagline should be set in Interstate
Bold Condensed, while the ® symbol should be set in
Interstate Bold. Its type treatment may be altered to
appear more cohesive in a given layout.
The tagline must remain as one line. It may
not be split up between lines or pages.
See the BrainPOP logo with tagline, regarding the tagline’s
appearance with the BrainPOP logo.
Use only the specified letter case, and
punctuation.
The tagline is a registered trademark, and
requires the appropriate symbol.

It is at the designer’s discretion to make legal copy as discreet as possible,
while still being readable. Generally, legal copy for the web looks best at
a size of 8 points, while legal copy for printed material looks best at 4
points. Also, the type may be set at a transparent opacity to appear less
obtrusive — especially when appearing over web graphics.

Stationery / Email signature
When formatting your email signature, please use the company’s standard
format below, and adhere to the following guidelines:
-[Name*] • [Title*] • [Company*]
[Email address*] • [Twitter username] • [Most relevant BrainPOP URL*]
t. XXX.XXX.XXXX • c. XXX.XXX.XXXX • f. XXX.XXX.XXXX
71 West 23rd Street, 17th Floor • New York, NY 10010
[Varying footer message]
*Required info.
• Set text in Arial, Helvetica, or your email client’s default font. It is best to
have the text of your message match your signature.
• Set text at a reasonable size. 10 pt is recommended for most fonts, (or 13
pixels if you’re using Mac Mail).
• Set text color to black.
• Your name and footer message are the only items that should appear bold.
• Use two hyphens followed by a space as a separator above your contact
information.
• Use soft returns (keyboard shortcut: Shift+Return) between lines, to avoid
large paragraph spacing in some email clients.
• If the second and third lines of your information contain three or less
items, they should be condensed to one line.
• Your signature should contain only one BrainPOP URL, which is most
relevant to your area of work.
• Use “http://www.” at the beginning of each URL, so it is likely to be linked
in the viewer’s message.
• Only include the footer message as it is dictated by our marketing team.
