All of them are neither stylish nor creative . ATEC is going to promote its image. Reception School office P’s and VP’s room Conference room Lobby Covered entrance Covered entrance Playground ATEC_Model Chair Design P.1_ Arts &Technology Education Centre 藝術與科技教育中心 Design & Technology 設計與科技科 Design Brief To design and model a chair/bench to promote the image of ATEC. Specifications: 1. The finished chair should be widely used in ATEC such as principal’s room, assistant principal’s room, school office and conference room 2. The finished bench should be widely used in ATEC such as cover entrance, school lobby and playground 3. The logo, “ATEC” or other special features of the centre should be adopted; 4. The chair/bench should have a good appearance in terms of lines, shapes, forms, texture, colour. 5. The material of the bench should be resistant to sunlight and rain 6. The construction of the bench should be strong enough to resist impact 7. The scale of the model chair/bench should be 1:8 8. The chair/3-seater bench is design for 1.6 m tall users/ 200mm ergonomics figure.. 9. The height of the seat should allow the user to rest his feet on the ground to prevent too much pressure accumulated under the 2 thighs; 10. The depth of the seat should allow the user to sit securely 11. The width of the seat should be wider than user’s hip ensuring the user sit comfortably 12. The shape of the seat should fit the shape of user’s bottom to evenly distribute the body weight ensuring not too much pressure accumulated on the bottom 13. The chair should provide a back rest to support the user’s back 14. The inclination angle between the seat and back rest should be 95 o -105o Expected outcomes: a. Anthropometric measurements (Body dimensions) of a 1.6m boy or a 200 ergonomic model b. Analysis of chairs/benches in terms of design concept, design elements, design principles, materials, construction. c. Study of the alphabet ATEC and logo of ATEC through line sketches and shape sketches d. Not less than 6 thumb nail sketches of chair/ benches e. Not less than 3 development sketches f. Not less than 2 proposed solution in annotated sketches g. 1 coloured Final solution h. Working Drawing of Final Solution i. The seat is formed by sandwiching another 6 ash strips. The legs and rails are fixed by joints. Design concept: Light, slim, elastic, comfort Design elements: lines, texture Design Principle: symmetrical balance Name: Flexilove sofa Designer: 邱啟審 Material: Eco friendly MDF/OSB side and recycle paper Construction: Made with a honeycomb structure that allows it to be stretched and curved into an array of shapes.
