In 2004, Gwon graduated with an MFA in Sculpture from Hong-Ik University in Seoul. The sculptor-photographer has held solo exhibitions in UK, China, the US and South Korea. He has participated in many national and international group exhibitions, the most recent of which include “ A POSITIVE VIEW”, Somerset House, London, UK (2010), “Manipulating Reality”, the Center for Contemporary Culture Strozzina, Florence, Italy (2009), “Contemporary Korean Art: Wonderland”, National Art Museum of China, Beijing, China (2007) and “Peppermint Candy: Contemporary Art of Korea” (2007). His work is collected widely and features in several public collections within Korea, including the National Museum of Contemporary Art; the Busan Museum of Art; the Youngeun Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art. Gwon’s most high-profile project to date has been the commission of artwork for the 2008 release of the British rock band Keane’s album the “Perfect Symmetry”. Published by Factory Additions Andy Warhol was born in 1928 in Pittsburgh and died in 1987 in New York City, USA. Warhol graduated from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh, with a degree in pictorial design in 1949. After graduating, Warhol moved to New York City, where he worked in advertising and began exhibiting his work during the 1950s. Andy Warhol was a painter, printmaker, and filmmaker who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His work is held in numerous prominent collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and abroad in the Tate Modern, London; Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, France. Keith Haring was born in 1958 in Reading, USA, and died in New York in 1990. In the late 1970s he attended the Ivy School of Professional Art, Pittsburgh, and the School of Visual Arts in New York. Haring has featured in countless solo exhibitions and retrospectives worldwide, including those held at the Guggenheim Museum, New York (2004) and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York (1997). His work is held in numerous prominent collections, including the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Whitney Museum; and abroad in the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, France; the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, Holland; and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Jerusalem, Israel. She lives and works in Tokyo, Japan. The artist graduated with a BFA from Tama Art University, Tokyo, in 1997, and is a member of the Kaikai Kiki Collective founded by artist Takashi Murakami. She works with a variety of media including painting, drawing and sculpture. Solo exhibitions have been staged in Japan and the USA. In 2005 Ban completed a major sculpture in New York’s Central Park for the Public Art Fund’s Doris C. Freedman Plaza Sculpture Installation. In 1991 he graduated from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, and he currently lives and works in Beijing, China. A master photographer, Wang has held numerous solo exhibitions at venues in Austria, Germany, USA and Brazil including the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, USA (2009). He has been included in many international group exhibitions including 17th Biennale of Sydney, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Australia (2010), “21: Contemporary Art”, Brooklyn Museum, New York, USA (2008), “Thermocline of Art New Asian Waves”, Museum of Contemporary Art, Karlsruhe, Germany (2006), “Follow Me! THUKRAL & TAGRA (B.1976 & B.1979) Somnium Genero – Spiro 2 Acrylic and oil on canvas 183 x 183 cm 2008 Jiten Thukral was born in Jalandhar, India, in 1976, and Sumir Tagra was born in New Delhi, India, in 1979. Both artists currently live and work in New Delhi. Thukral gained a BFA from Chandigarh Art College in 1998 and an MFA from the New Delhi College of Art in 2000. Tagra graduated in 2001 with a BFA from the New Delhi College of Art and in 2006 completed his Post-Graduate Studies in Communication Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmadabad, India. The duo work collaboratively with a broad range of media including painting, sculpture, video, installation and graphic design. They presented solo exhibitions in India, Switzerland, UK and the USA, Germany and Australia, and have participated in numerous international group exhibitions including “Urban Manners II”, SESC, Sao Paolo, Brazil (2010), “Confines/Frontiers”, Insituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno, Valencia, Spain (2009), Asian Art Biennial, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei, Taiwan (2009), and Animamix Biennial 2007, Museum of Contemporary Art, Shanghai, China (2007). Thukral & Tagra have also completed high-profile commissions for Pepsi, United Colors of Benetton and Nokia. He graduated from the Art College of the People’s Liberation Army in 1989 and in 1993 from the Beijing Film Academy. A sculptor and practitioner of contemporary Chinese ink painting, Zhu has held solo exhibitions in China, Singapore, the USA, Indonesia, Belgium and Hong Kong. RICHARD TUTTLE (B.1941) Masculin Wood and plastic laminate Height variable, 81.2 x 81.2 cm Edition of 10 1999 Richard Tuttle was born in Rahway, New Jersey in 1941, and he lives and works in New Mexico and New York. He received a BA from Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut. Although most of Tuttle’s prolific artistic output since he began his career in the 1960s has taken the form of three-dimensional objects, he commonly refers to his work as drawing rather than sculpture, emphasizing the diminutive scale and idea-based nature of his practice. Richard Tuttle received a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and the Skowhegan Medal for Sculpture. He has had one-person exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; ICA Philadelphia; Kunsthaus Zug, Switzerland; Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea, Santiago de Compostela; and the Museu Serralvesin, Porto, Portugal. Richard Tuttle was also featured in a major retrospective in San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (2005). In 1985, she began working with oil and acrylic on canvas. Qin Fengling has developed her own unique style of painting and found her own art language. Ignoring traditionally accepted methods, she creates pieces that can only be described as “sculpture on canvas”. Qin Fengling has held solo exhibitions in China and also featured in group exhibitions worldwide including “UNITED in Art”, De Vos Art Museum, Marquette, USA (2008), “The First Today’s/Energy: Spirit•Body•Material”, Beijing Today Art Museum, Beijing, China (2007) and “Neo- Painting from China”, Kamakura Gallery, Japan (2007). In 2001 he received his BFA from the Maryland Institute, and in 2003 graduated with an MFA from Columbia University in New York. Aram’s practice is largely confined to two-dimensional media, painting and drawing, and he has held solo exhibitions at venues including LAXART, Los Angeles, USA (2010) and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, USA (2006). He received a BFA in painting from the Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai, in 1996 and has exhibited steadily ever since. Kallat’s practice runs the gamut of contemporary practice including installation, sculpture, photography, painting, drawing and collage. Kallat has held solo exhibitions in India and abroad, including the USA, Australia, China, Korea, Singapore, Switzerland and the UK. Zlamany left home in 1974 to attend an art high school in New Haven and to study art at Yale University. She also studied art at the San Francisco Art Institute; Atelier 17, in Paris; the Tyler School of Art, in Rome; and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She received a BA from Wesleyan University in 1981.
