Fun Fall Facts Because of the wide variety of trees, the Eastern United States, especially the North Eastern U.S., is one of the best places in the world for viewing fall colors. The leave colors red, yellow & brown are in the leaves all year long & only become exposed when the green chlorophyll disappears in the fall. Haunted house attractions bring in almost ½ billion dollars annually. Citrine is a November birthstone. Citrine is actually quartz crystal and is yellow to orange in color. November is Tobacco Awarness Month. Boxing Day is the 26th of December. The tradition has long included giving money and other gifts to those who were needy and in service positions. The holiday originated from the middle ages (A.D. 400’s-1500’s). In 1973, Hallmark introduced six glass ball ornaments and 12 yarn figures as the first collection of Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments. A new tradition of Christmas decorating was started and a new collectible industry was born.
