March 2013
From the President
Membership Drive 2013
Joe Sugg
It's that time of the year - time for March
Madness, America's Pastime, golf season, and of
course - the Chamber membership drive! The
afternoon of Wednesday, March 27th you will
see Chamber board members, staff, and
volunteers canvassing the area in search of new
members. We must work together as a
community and support each other's businesses.
Chamber membership fosters support of local
business and our area as a whole. A big 'thank
you' to all of our current Chamber members!
Look for Superheroes on the streets of Heber Springs on
March 27th as they encourage businesses to join forces with
the Heber Springs Chamber of Commerce! You can also get
in on the action. Any current chamber member who
sucessfully recruits 3 new members or former members will
receive 50% off their 2014 membership dues. (This excludes
banks and utilities--Sorry guys)

JAG Ambassadors
2013 Heber Springs
Chamber of Commerce Banquet
These JAG students were invaluable during the Chamber of
Commerce Banquet in February. They helped set up tables
and chairs for 600, unpacked decorations, and placed table
linens on each table. Their service helped the Chamber
Staff and Volunteers tremendously during this event! The
Heber Springs High School JAG Specialist is Gaye Stark.
The JAG (Jobs for American Graduates) program at Heber
Springs High School hosted a Job Fair March 14 in the High
School Gymnasium. Twenty-three area businesses
participated in the event which saw nearly 400 10th, 11th and 12th grade students. The JAG program goals
can be classified into three major categories:
• Goals that are related to in-school activities
• Immediate post-program goals
• Long-term goals
