History:
„SY MISTRAL“:
„Mistral“ was built for Mr. Theodor W. Little in 1938 by a design of L. Francis
Herreshoff at the yard of Britt Brothers at the Sogus River in West Lynn,
Massachusetts USA. The guidelines were to built a fast but comfortable schooner
for the US coast waters in the typical Herreshoff style.
During the world war „Mistral“ was used as a US coast guard boat against
submarine with to her noiseless propulsion and made US Navy history as first
trainig boat which crossed the Atlantic under woman´s command.
The current owner revived the tradition, elegance and performance and so
„Mistral“ benefitted from two major refits from 97-2000 and 2007 – 2008 in
Canada and Germany which brought her back into brilliant shape!
