parts. Part one is making blocks with

how to put it together. You may not finish

your own paper piecing project from
Carol Doak small patterns to Judy
Neimeyer big quilts or something from
a magazine and we will practice how to
paper piece it. Maybe a Valentine gift?

3USE QUALITY THREAD. The short, brittle
fibers of old or inexpensive thread
create more lint,. Buildup of lint can shorten
your machine’s life.
3NEVER SEW OVER PINS. If you hit a pin, the
needle may strike the throat plate or other
parts under the plate. This creates burrs,
which catch the thread and cause it to break
or fray. It may also affect the timing and
alignment of the needle and bobbin case.
3SEW SLOWLY OVER HEAVY LAYERS. Also use a longer stitch length.
This prevents jamming or skewing of the needle.
3USE THE RIGHT PRESSER FOOT. All sewing machine brands offer a
variety of feet designed to accomplish specific jobs using the wrong
foot can cause damage to your machine.
3WATCH FOR NEEDLE BUILDUP. When using fusible interfacing,
stabilizers, or spray adhesive, glue may build up on the needle and
thread. Clean often.
3PLUG INTO A SURGE PROTECTOR. It will protect your machine against
surges and dips in electricity.
3STORE WITH THE PRESSER FOOT DOWN. On mechanical machines,
when the foot is up, the spring is compressed.
It can lose strength if left like that for long periods.
