Sliding Door Systems
Horton Automatics sliding door systems are used in a wide range of commercial and industrial
applications, both interior and exterior. Complete packages are available from 7-ft to 16-ft
opening widths. Door configurations are available in 2-, 3-, or 4-panel designs, single sliding
or biparting with choice of anodized aluminum, paint or metal cladding finish. Narrow and
medium stile panels as well as all-glass Elegant ® series designs are also available.

O Panel
At the heart of these hardworking systems is a choice of
three Horton Automatics sliding door operator platforms.
All are engineered with 1/8 hp motors (1/4 hp motor
option for Series 2001 heavy duty operators) plus
microprocessor control and digital display for visual
adjustment of door opening, braking and diagnostics.
Each drive mechanism also has a built-in memory for
seasonal settings, automatic locking, exterior cutoff of
detectors and other programming. An auto-seal feature
ensures the doors are closed for energy savings.

door system is often selected for its attractiveness.
Yet the real advantages are revealed in the system’s
dependability, with no belts to wear out and easy
adjustments.
Ideal for high traffic applications, this heavy duty beltdrive door system is engineered to provide long life and
quiet operation with heavier door panels up to 250 lbs.
The ProSlide™ telescoping door package provides an
automatic sliding door solution in narrow passageways,
effectively increasing the opening width more than
35 percent. It is available in single direction sliding or
bi-parting configuration. Panels as well as sidelites can
be specified for emergency breakout.

at each opening will start door rotation on user
approach. A reduced speed feature slows the rotation for

Ideal for small vestibules and hospital corridors that require wide openings in a limited space, Horton folding doors
provide entrance automation where sliding door systems or automatic swinging doors may not provide sufficient
clearance. Each FoldingAccess® door package includes Vista® sensing technology (see p. 14) for full automatic operation
along with a choice of operators for medium or heavy traffic. The system may also be specified for manual operation.
The innovative folding design incorporates the built-in safety of emergency breakout and a low closing force

Horton service windows are a standard specification for leading restaurant chains, pharmacies and other companies that
have discovered how drive-thru service can enhance their business. These tailor-made systems utilize proven Horton
automation and construction details including aluminum header and corner-blocked panels.
Units can be customized with transaction drawers, up to 1" insulated glass, bullet resistant glass, a variety of counter tops
such as stainless steel and other specifier options. The windows open and close automatically when activated by Horton’s
HipScan™ or WinScan™ actuator and can also be opened manually if there is a power outage. An optional automatic
lock secures the window each time it closes.

Heavy duty operators as well as complete door systems
are engineered to meet the demanding conditions of
manufacturing facilities. These hard working systems
typically include photoelectric beams placed parallel to
the door opening. Doors up to 1000 lbs. can be
operated, with faster-acting light door systems also
available for high traffic material handling environments.
Operators are microprocessor controlled, activated with
pull cord or other switching. Manual operated door sets
may also be specified with special tracks and door

Sensing Systems
Horton Automatics offers sensor packages for all automatic door systems including sliding, swinging, folding and
revolving door installations.
Sensors for Swinging Doors, Folding Doors
Horton Vista™ sensor packages include systems with varying degrees of presence detection as required. Basic
systems incorporate a microwave or active infrared sensor on the approach side. Enhanced Vista™ systems add door
mounted presence sensors to each side of the swinging door panel plus an optional infrared Sentinel™ photo beam
on the guide rail if specified. Guide rails are normally specified on the swing side (or fold side of bifolding doors) per
ANSI A156.10. Two rails are required if a wall or barrier is not present.

All systems utilize infrared reflective sensing on both sides for two-way traffic activation. In addition, Horton offers
photoelectric safety beam sensors are mounted in the sidelite or frame at 24" and 48" from the floor to prevent

Activation components for revolving doors are availible for directional security and entry protection. Horton
ControlFlow®, AutoFlow® and Grand® revolving systems include appropriate equipment for each application.
Most revolving door sensing packages include motion detection on both sides for door activation. Additional
sensing may include a top-of-wing mounted VistaScan™ sensor to slow or stop door rotation if someone is near
the wing, a FootGuard™ contact switch and Entryguard™ infrared sensing of interior/exterior entrance zones and
other detection electronics.
For ultimate security, the Horton Visdom HS® (high security) system utilizes 3D stereovision technology to prevent
piggybacking and tailgating. Ideal for specification with Horton ControlFlow® revolving doors, this advanced system
