WINNERS TO PROGRESS – LOSERS OUT 35 mins. each way - time off for stoppages as indicated by the referee. Defending premiers, Helensburgh; did not cement fourth place until last week’s final match. However, the Tigers have shown glimpses of their 2015 form in recent weeks and that momentum will really test Collegians in this “sudden death” semi. Collies have struggled in recent games and suffered a 18-22 loss to Thirroul in the last round. Injuries and player availability could determine their final line-up and their opportunity to move on to next week’s final. The tactics of the respective coaches – NATHAN FIEN (Collegians) and RYAN POWELL (H’burgh) – could ultimately decide this game. SECOND GRADE The ‘Burgh will also play in the Second Grade minor semifinal – against Wests. The Devils only qualified in the last round, with a big win over Berkeley; and a tight elimination semi is predicted. UNDER 18’s Cronulla-based club Gymea will be favoured to win the minor semi-final over Dapto. They have provided strong opposition to top teams Wests and Thirroul throughout the season. TWO VERY EVENLY MATCHED TEAMS Despite Dapto finishing the competition rounds undefeated, this First Grade major semi-final could go either way. On both occasions the two teams have met during 2016, the Canaries have won by the narrowest of margins. Wests have been amassing huge numbers of points in the second half of this season. Provided their defence holds, the Devils could become the first team into the grand final. 35 mins. each way - time off for stoppages as indicated by the referee. WESTS SECOND GRADE Dapto also finished top of the table in Second Grade and will face tough opposition from Thirroul. In fact, this premiership is “wide open”. UNDER 18’s Minor premier Wests and Thirroul have been the leading teams throughout the season and will be favoured to meet again in the grand final. DAPTO WINS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP The big improvement in the Dapto club’s overall performances this season has been rewarded with the 2016 Coastline Printing Club Championship. The Canaries amassed a total of 135 points from the three grades – Wests were second on 126 and Thirroul finished with 104.
