COPYRIGHT O N T H E Q U A L I T Y L I N E Portable and sturdy all purpose oxygen indicators with high accuracy ceramic sensor SGI-3 and OXI-3 are a line of digitised, easy-to-use gas indicators for measuring oxygen with a fast responding, ceramic, high accuracy sensor. These analysers feature oxygen concentration alarm setting with buzzer and 0/4 - 20 mA signal out, built-in pump and self-diagnostics of important functional parameters. The SGI/OXI series have been on the market for more than a decade, but now this highly popular gas analyser is re-launched in a state-of-the-art digital concept, but without changing the sturdy design and the simplicity in use. These analysers have defined the standard for O2 monitoring in arc welding processes of stainless steel, titanium etc., but also within many other areas where sturdiness, simplicity in use combined with a fast and accurate analysis and a reasonable price level, are regarded as important. SGI-3 - portable - measures oxygen from 5000 ppm to 1 ppm in inert gases and CO2 from 500 to 10 ppm in formier gas with max. 10% hydrogen. ADVANTAGES ● ● ● ● ● Large measuring range Ceramic sensor with high accuracy and fast response time Digitised analyser Self-diagnostics with function alarm Selectable pre-programmed calibration settings for inert gas and blends of 2%, 5% and 10% H2 ● Easy-to-read display ● Signal out: 0/4 - 20 mA or 0/2 - 10 volt ● Signal in (24 v.) for automatic start-stop of sampling for on-line use Notice: OXI-3.1 is without sample pump and display. APPLICATIONS ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Welding - inert gases and formier gases Fermentation (i.e. checking CO2 purity) Soldering reflow ovens Incubators Nitrogen generators Semiconductor processing Check of industrial gas installations OXI-3 - portable - measures oxygen from 20,9% to 1 ppm in inert gases and CO2. OXI-3.1 - on-line - measures oxygen from 1 ppm to 100% O2 in inert gases and CO2. User interface via external communication. O N T H E Q U A L I T Y L I N E WELDING USING SGI-3: Welding without oxidation: Welding samples indicating the oxidation process under various O2 levels. 1000 ppm O2 60 ppm O2 Oxidation of welds occurs during the welding process if the oxygen content is too high and the temperature of the metal is above a certain level (see the inserted welding samples). The oxygen indicator, SGI-3, is a powerful tool to secure oxidation free welding. Insert the measuring tube in the stainless steel pipe - or with a thin probe through the pipe gab - supply the back shielding gas. The SGI-3 will now monitor and display the purging process, as it continuously samples from the pipe. When the oxygen level is correct, (the alarm goes off) and the welding process can start. The oxygen monitoring should continue during the welding process to allow the SGI-3 to immediately alert the operator if oxygen level should indcrease above the set level. The advantages using oxygen monitoring during welding are obvious: - The oxygen level can be monitored precisely and with ease. - The operator knows exactly when to start welding. No extra purging is necessary - no extra waiting time. - Later bad experiences with oxidated welds - rework and possible damage problems are efficiently avoided. Good welding purge dams optimise the purging process further and should always feature fittings for easy mounting of the analyser’s sampling tube. 20 ppm O2 1 ppm O2 USER INTERFACE FOR SGI-3/OXI-3 The measured oxygen content is displayed by the 48 red LEDs which light up within a reverse logarithmic characteristic. This makes the view of the measuring process very easy, also on a rather long distance. In case of an O2 alarm or a system failure alarm, the display will flash. Choose freely between INERT gas or any FORMIER gas blending up to 10% H2 (choose one of the predefined values, 2, 5 or 10% H2 figures close to the one actually used). The alarm level is very easy to set: Push the buttons for alarms and the red display will light up, indicating the set alarm level. By pushing -/+ buttons, the alarm level can be adjusted to a new setting. FREE VIDEO!
