Flying 4 Kids
All Ages
Keep your eye to the sky
in the month of May. The
Westmont Park District will
take part in the 6th annual Flying 4
Kids statewide kite fly in May to help
promote the sport of kite flying. We will
have the Illinois Kite Enthusiast (IKE) club
come out to do demonstrations and show off
their assortment of kites. At 3:00PM we will
have the participants take part in the “Candy
Drop,” which allows the kids to collect candy
that falls from the kites. If you don’t have a
kite, no problem, there will be opportunities
at this event to make your own kite. Come on
out and enjoy the lost art of kite flying.
Concessions will be available to purchase.
Performance in the Park:
A Series of One Act Short Plays
All Ages
You don’t have to travel all the way to the North Shore for
the Ravinia experience; the Progressive Village Performing
Network is bringing it to you right here in Westmont. Listed
below are the dates and times of performances that we will
be offering. Our Community Theatre is not only an
opportunity to view these performances, but also participate
in them. All ages, level and experience are welcome. If you
have performed for 25 years or this is your first time you are
always welcome. If you have a dream of performing
on stage, this is your chance.

“Summer Time and the Livin is Easy”, especially if you join
us at Ty Warner Park for our popular Concerts in the
Park Series, movies and live theater FRIDAY
nights. The new exciting twist is that we’re going “Ravinia” style! Yes, that’s right, everyone
is welcome to bring a picnic, or purchase food
from our concession stand, and this year
you’re invited to bring a bottle of wine or
beer to enjoy. Remember to bring your
own lawn chairs and/or blankets. “There
will be Dancing in the Street” or in this case the Ty Warner Park so
you won’t want to miss even one performance. The only thing we
require is that you keep all alcoholic beverages within the
designated area in front of the Gazebo. So, bring the whole family
or come alone, but don’t miss out on this FREE entertainment or
you’ll be “Singing the Blues.”

Lights, camera, action! Bring the whole family to our FREE
Movies in the Park to experience a unique, outdoor theatre
experience. Movies will be shown in the Ty Warner Park gazebo and
will begin at approximately 8:30PM. The shows will end between
10:30-11:00PM. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and snacks or
purchase them at the Backstop Concession Stand.

Concerts, Movies, Live Theater at Ty Warner Park
5th Annual Red, White and BBQ
The Westmont Lions Club is proud to announce the 5th annual Red,
White and BBQ Competition and Festival! The festival will take
place May 27-29 at beautiful Ty Warner Park. This is the largest
competition and festival of its kind in northern Illinois. Sanctioned
by the Kansas City BBQ Society, over 55 professional competitors
will vie for the coveted prize of Grand Champion by cooking in the
categories of chicken, pork, ribs and beef. Over 40 amateurs will
compete by cooking ribs for cash and prizes.
There will be free, live music all day long, an all-ages carnival,
cooking demonstrations, craft fair, commercial vendors, chili contest
and plenty of Chicagoland’s BEST BBQ along with plenty of drink
to wash it down. New for this year will be an Iron Chef type of

Race To The Flag 5K
The Village of Westmont’s Health and Wellness committee has
partnered up with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital once again for
a 5k run/walk. Join friends and neighbors and Race to the Flag!
On Sunday morning, May 29, during Westmont’s Red, White
and BBQ weekend, hundreds of
runners will participate in a USATF
and CARA certified 5k run/walk
around Ty Park and the Oakwood
Subdivision.

These meetings are
open to the public.
We hope that you enjoyed the programming opportunities this past winter/spring season.
With the trees budding and flowers blooming it’s time to experience many new programs and
offerings! Our staff has been working very hard creating new programs to accompany some
of your favorites.
We look forward to the July 4th Spectacular at beautiful Ty Warner Park, our new series, Friday
Night Arts in the Park, Summer Day Camps and much more! We are also looking forward to
offering many activities that include youth programs, athletics, senior trips and early childhood
classes that will offer great excitement for everyone. The Westmont Park District has twenty
parks and open spaces throughout the village, each with its own unique traits that are sure to
meet all of your recreation needs.
Be sure to take in 9 holes of golf and enjoy our newly renovated Twin Lakes Golf Course Clubhouse. Also new for summer is our brand new playground at Veterans Memorial Park,
full of many play features that will take your child’s creativity and imagination to new heights!

Spray Park
Come out to visit our zero-depth spray park cushioned by a safe and soft
resilient rubber surface. Based on a nautical theme, water sprays and squirts
through a whale’s tail, an anchor, a mast and a number of other ground level
spouts. The spray park attraction is $3 for Westmont residents and $5 for
non-resident children. An adult or guardian must accompany children under 6
years of age; adults are free of charge.
The Backstop Concession Stand will be open for your beverage and food
needs. We have a wide assortment of soda, ice cream, candy and much more.
Your kids will love eating the Sponge Bob and Spiderman ice cream. Pizza,
hot dogs, nachos and hot pretzels always hit the spot on a summer day. No
need to leave the park for lunch, the Backstop is right up the path!

The Westmont Park District is teaming up with the Clarendon Hills Park District this summer to provide outdoor swimming
for Westmont Park District residents. In this neighborly rate program, the Clarendon Hills Park District has allocated 125
family passes for Lions Park Pool to Westmont Park District residents.
Starting Monday, March 21, families who have not purchased a pool membership in 2009 or 2010 may register with
the Westmont Park District on a first come, first serve basis. Stop by the Westmont Park District Community Center to
receive your approval letter and registration form to be presented to the Clarendon Hills Park District. You must register
with the Westmont Park District first in order to receive your letter and registration form. You must be a Westmont Park
District resident to qualify to get your letter of approval. There will be a $5 service fee paid to the Westmont Park
District at the time of registration.
The 2011 Season Pool Pass Neighborly Rates are as follows:

(The Family Plus Pass includes 10 daily guest admissions normally priced at $120 for the price of $40)
*Families are defined as: Members of your family whom live in the same household AND are claimed on the family’s
federal income tax.
There will be no Neighborly Rate passes offered after June 1. Anyone who has not redeemed an approval letter by
June 1 will have to pay the Non-Resident rate.
After receiving your approval letter and registration form you must take the letter to the Clarendon Hills Park District
Community Center, 315 Chicago Avenue to register for your pool pass. No registrations will be taken at Lions Park Pool.
This Neighborly Rate program is limited to 125 passes; once they are gone no more will be issued. Due to the quantity
issued there will be a 1 pass per family limit. You must be present to receive your approval letter.

Summer Day Camp
Ages: 6-9 years old or grades 1-4
Come and explore all while having fun in our active outdoor day camp
at Veterans Memorial Park where children are encouraged to expand
their personal horizons through cooperative games, swimming, special
events, field trips, sports, cook outs, craft activities, and much more.
During inclement weather such as extreme heat and/or rain, camp
will be held in the Community Center building. Parents will receive
a welcome letter approximately one week before the program begins,
outlining the daily operations of the camp and emergency information
forms, which need to be filled out, signed and returned by the first day
of camp. Please note: transportation is not included in the camp
fees. If bus service is needed, please see the bus schedule page for
routes and fees. If you do not receive a letter one week before camp
begins, please call the park district at (630) 963-5252.
To register for the program, please complete the registration form and
indicate bus route and stop if needed. No camp will be held on Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Please note that the
camp start date was changed due to the two emergency days that
were used by our affiliated School Districts #60 and #201. The camp
fees for Session A are adjusted for that purpose.

Ages: 6-7 years old or grades 1-2
Is all day camp way too long for your little one? Well, here is the
solution, this half-day program is structured and designed to fit the
needs and interest of our younger campers. They too will enjoy
participating in games, sports, crafts, stories, songs and team building
activities right along with all day campers in the outdoor environment
at Veterans Park. During inclement weather such as extreme heat and/or
rain, camp will be held in the Community Center building. The
half-day camp fee includes one field trip plus one aquatic day at Lion’s
Pool in Clarendon Hills per session. Field trip information and the
swim date will be made available during the first week of each session
of camp. On those special days, your child will be dismissed from
camp at 3:30PM along with the full-day campers. Pre-camp is
available for half-day campers for an additional fee. (see page 9)
However, the post-camp and bus transportation services are not an
option for the half-day camp program. No camp will be held on
Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Summer Fun Camp
Ages: 4, 5 & 6 year olds (must be age four by September 1, 2011)
If you are looking for a half-day camp program that operates both
two and four days a week, then this is the camp for you! Come and
celebrate the best months of the year at Twin Lakes Learning Center,
located at 200 West 59th Street. This camp is designed for children
ages 4-6 years who love listening to stories, singing songs, creating
crafts, exploring messy mediums, playground fun, water play,
socializing and eating lunch with both new and old friends in a
comfortable, nurturing and safe setting. New themes are offered each
week and new activities are presented each day. Therefore, it doesn’t
matter if your child attends two days or four days a week since
everyday new experiences are offered at camp.
Parents will receive a welcome letter, student information form and an
activity schedule in the mail approximately one week before the
Summer Fun camp begins.
Children must be fully toilet trained, (pull ups are not acceptable) and
for safety purposes, they must be able to communicate their needs in
simple English to the staff for safety purposes.
Lunch Time
Please send a sack lunch with your child to camp each day. Cups,
napkins and a beverage such as apple juice or lemonade are provided
at lunch time and water is always available as needed.
Camp Operation Fun
Ages: 10-13 years old or 5th-8th grades
Are you way too bored sitting at home in the summer while all your
friends are out doing great things like cutting lawns, cleaning out the
garage or babysitting? If so, then ask your parents to sign you up for
Camp Operation Fun and you’ll have an excuse why you don’t have to
do all those lame chores. Camp is held at the Community Center and
within the boundaries of Veterans Memorial Park. Activities include
sports, games, cookouts, weekly field trips, special events, swimming
adventures and much more. Parents will receive a welcome letter approximately one week before the program begins, outlining the daily
operations of the camp and emergency information forms, which need
to be filled out, signed and returned by the first day of camp. Please
note: transportation is not included in the camp fees. If bus service
is needed, please see the bus schedule page for routes and fees.
If you do not receive a letter one week before camp begins, please call
the park district at (630) 963-5252.
To register for the program please complete the registration form and
indicate bus route and stop if needed. No camp will be held on Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Please note that
the camp start date was changed due to the two emergency days
that were used by our affiliated School Districts #60 and #201. The
camp fees for Session A are adjusted for that purpose.

Day Camp Transportation
Our camp programs offer a bus service at an additional fee to pick up and drop off campers at neighborhood locations on both the north and south
side of town. This service is optional and is operated by the Westmont Park District camp staff. If using this method of transportation, please refer
to the bus schedule to select your route and bus stop that is closest to your home. Make sure to indicate your selection on the registration form.
Arrangements should be made for an adult to supervise children at the bus stop in both the morning and afternoon. All participants will be notified
by telephone regarding drop off and pick up times a few days before each session of camp begins. The bus transportation is only available for Day
Camp and Camp Operation Fun participants. In order for this service to be available, it is essential that the minimum number of participants is met
in each session. All bus registrations must be finalized the Thursday prior to the session that your child is signed up to attend.

SUMMER CAMP
Camp Registration
The registration deadline is one week before each camp
session begins. A $35 deposit per session is required upon
registration. Deposits are non-refundable and they are
included in the tuition fees. All camp fees must be paid in
full by June 1, 2011 or upon session registration after that
date. Since space is limited and the counselors are hired to
fulfill group size, the camp fees are not pro-rated. Please
note that online registration is not an available method of
registration for camp programs since birth certificates are
required to sign up for camp.
Camp Payments
Payments for Day Camp, Camp Operation Fun and Pre/Post
Camps can be made by using a major credit card, cash or
check. All payments for camp programs are accepted at
the Community Center located at 75. E Richmond Street.
Please call the Park District at (630) 963-5252 for further
information regarding payments.
Camp Staff
All activities are supervised by fully trained counselors who
are certified in first aid, CPR and AED. The camp staff is
carefully selected for their leadership abilities, caring nature
and strong desire to work with children of all ages in both
small and large groups in a recreational setting.
Parent Orientation
Parents and campers are encouraged to attend the camp
orientation meeting on Wed., June 1 at 7 p.m. at the Senior/
Administration Building located at 55 E Richmond St. This
is a great opportunity to meet the camp staff, learn important
information and have all your camp questions answered.
Lunch
Day Camp and Camp Operation Fun campers should bring
their lunch in a cooled container and water in an insulated
bottle marked with their name. Water breaks will be taken
often and encouraged throughout the day.
Swimming
Campers from each camp will escape the heat at the
Westmont High School indoor pool for recreational
swimming each week. The Day Camp campers attend on
Tuesdays & Thursdays and the Camp Operation Fun campers
attend on Mondays & Wednesdays. The pool is supervised by
trained lifeguards and camp staff. Occasionally, both camps
will utilize Lions Pool in Clarendon Hills as an alternative
site for swimming.
Field Trips
Each session of Day Camp includes one paid field trip and
the Camp Operation Fun camp includes three field trips
during each session of camp at no additional cost as well. In
addition, both camps will also take walking field trips to local
parks, nearby attractions or down town businesses each week.
A camp T-shirt is included in the camp fee and is required to
be worn on field trip days. Information and permission forms
pertaining to these activities are sent home in advance.
Pre/Post Camp
Ages: 6-13 years old or 1st- 8th grades
This program is designed to provide supervision for children who
need additional care before and/or after the normal camp hours.
Activities include both quiet games inside and recreational adventures
in the gym or at the playground outside. These programs are available
to anyone enrolled in our Day Camp or Camp Operation Fun camps.
Please note that a late fee of $5 will be charged for every ten minutes
after 6:00PM.

Continue your great summer at Camparama, which runs between the

Westmont Park District Memorial Programs
Memorial Tree Planting Program
Trees can be purchased as a gift for a friend, for yourself or in memory of a loved one. A tree can also
be purchased for a newborn to commemorate their birth year, and your family can watch as both grow
through the years!
All trees purchased through the Memorial Tree Planting Program consist of tree planting, the mounting
of a permanent plaque and a certiﬁcate of planting issued to the donating party. Trees can be planted in
the park of your choice and purchased at any time throughout the year; planting will be in spring and fall.
Commemorative Brick & Park Bench Program
The Westmont Park District offers a Commemorative Brick & Park Bench Program; a way to remember
your cherished time here in Westmont or to remember and honor a loved one.
These clay-fired bricks will be prominently placed at Ty Warner Park. Special requests cannot be granted
for specific locations, colors or type styles; the brick color is selected by the Westmont Park District
and each brick will be engraved with the same typeface. Orders will be accepted at any time and until
available space sells out. Please note that orders received after May 1 will not be placed in the ground
until Memorial Day of the following year.
The Westmont Park District will work with you to determine a great space for your Commemorative Park
Bench. Requests for a specific location may be made, but are not guaranteed. Have a favorite bench
already in one of the parks? Plaques can also be purchased and added to existing benches to remember a
loved one.

The Westmont Park District preschool offers developmentally appropriate programs in a fun, safe,
nurturing (peanut free) environment for three, four and five year old children. The curriculum consists of
group times, language, literature, art, math, science, dramatic play, healthy snacks, music and movement,
indoor and outdoor play. Educational interactive materials and equipment are both offered to promote
exploration and discovery which supports the growth and development of the whole child. All
experiences are play based and designed to enhance the children creatively, intellectually, emotionally,
socially and physically.
Registration
Parents are welcome to visit and observe a class at Twin Lakes Learning Center, located at
200 West 59th Street in Westmont. For appointments or more information, please call the preschool at
(630) 963-7538. A detailed parent handbook is available upon visitation and/or registration. Registration
for the 2011/2012 school year began on Friday, February 4, 2011 for Westmont residents and on
February 11, 2011 for non-residents. Children must be three or four years old by September 1st of the
year they plan to attend class. All those enrolled must be fully toilet trained (no pull ups allowed) they
must be able to separate from parent or caregiver in a timely manner and must be able to communicate
their needs in English to the teaching staff for safety purposes.
The Staff
The preschool staff prides themselves on their abilities to provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment
for the children in their care. They are fully experienced and qualified in early childhood development
and education. The philosophy is play based and the practices follow the guidelines of the National
Association Education for Young Children.

This program is designed for the 2 or 3-year-old with parent/caregiver.
Class time includes process art, story time, songs and other guided
activities to help promote language, positive social interaction, and
large and small motor development through the use of age appropriate
materials and equipment. The philosophy is play based and the class
structure is consistent with the continuing preschool for three- and
four/five year-olds. The 2 & 3 Skool participants turning 3 years-old
by September 1, 2012 will receive priority registration for the preschool program held at the Twin Lakes Learning Center located at 200
W. 59th Street in Westmont. A list of days that classes will not be held
will be provided during the first week of school. Since this program
follows the local school district’s calendars. Please note that this

Pond Life Adventures
Ages: 4-7 years
Come along and discover life around the pond at Twin Lakes this
summer. We’ll explore bugs, frogs, turtles, ducks, wetland plants and
more. We’ll make discoveries of our findings through the use of a
high-powered microscope as well as other hands-on activities. A
related story, simple snack (peanut free) and nature craft will be
offered as part of this scientific adventure of life around the pond.
Please bring a bottle of water and apply sunscreen before coming to
class. Class meets at Twin Lakes Learning Center. In case of
inclement weather, class will be held indoors.

The Early Bird Kids Club and Westmont Kids
Club programs are held each school day at the
Westmont Park District. For those Early Birds,
you may drop your child off at the Community
Center starting at 7:00 am and they will be
transported to school. Children in the Westmont
Kids Club program will be picked up at school
each day and transported to the Community
Center, where you may pick them up anytime
before 6:00 pm.
Participants will play board and table games,
have gym time to play kick ball and tag; we will
go outside when the weather is nice and use the
ice rink during the winter. Homework is always
a priority and our staff will be more then happy
to help out. Some special activities we plan are
our Scarecrow program in the fall and our end
of the year carnival, where we serve food and
play games. Every month we will celebrate

Star” Basketball Camp. We have made some changes in the camp this
year, and we are looking forward to teaching the young athletes the
basic fundamentals such as ball handling, dribbling, shooting, etc.
These fundamentals will then be used in drills and scrimmage play.
We have combined the boys and girls together for each level and the
kids will then be broken down in the camp by ability and age. This

Tae Kwon Do
This class is designed to teach individuals ages 6 & up the physical
and mental aspects of the Korean martial arts - Tae Kwon Do. The
course will focus on self-defense, forms, punching, kicking and mental
training techniques designed to help an individual’s self-improvement.
In addition, students shall learn the history and terminology of Tae Kwon
Do while applying its contents. As a result, an individual will learn
self-discipline, self-confidence, physical coordination, sportsmanship,
and respect for application at home and school. Parent involvement is
encouraged and all classes are taught by black belt instructors
of Lion’s Martial Arts of Woodridge, under the direction of seventh
degree black belt Master Chung Kim. A uniform and handbook are

Westmont Wildcat Cheerleading

Westmont Wildcats Cheerleading is part of the The Greater Chicagoland Youth Football and Cheer organization. Cheerleaders will not
only cheer at the home and away football games but will also compete
in regional and possibly national cheer competitions. Seven Wildcats
Cheer teams have competed in the National Cheer competition in the
last three years, with two teams bringing home Second place finishes
at Nationals in Florida. Come and be a part of this exciting group of
young athletes. The level that you will cheer at is based on your age
along with the years of experience that you have in Cheerleading.

Westmont Park District is proud to celebrate its fifteenth year of offering Wildcats youth football to the community. Westmont Wildcats
Football and Cheerleading are members of The Greater Chicagoland Youth Football and Cheer program, part of the United Youth
Football League (UYF). The UYF is a youth football organization
established to promote the wholesome development of youth through
their association with adult leaders in the sport of American football.
Rules and regulations are established to ensure that players play in an
atmosphere of safety with a competitive balance between teams. Each
UYF league or team is a self governing body with freedom to elect
its own officials and to oversee the enforcement of its own well-being
as long as it agrees to follow the framework of UYF philosophy and
regulations.
Practice begins in late July and the season ends in early November unless you continue on through the National Championships. Uniforms
and practice gear are supplied for football. All home games are played
on Sundays at Westmont High School while away games are played at
various towns in The Chicagoland UYF League.
Early Bird registration will take place at the Westmont Community
Center on the following dates and times:

Progressive Village Performing Network
Our Town
The Westmont community theatre group, the Progressive Village
Performing Network, is proud to be present our first show to the
community. “Our Town” is described by Edward Albee as “…the
greatest American plays ever written.” Tickets will be available for
purchase at the Westmont Community Center starting June 10. Tickets
will also be available 30 minutes before each show when the doors

die. Thornton Wilder’s final word on how he wanted his play performed
is an invaluable addition to the American stage and to the libraries of
theatre lovers internationally.

This workshop is geared towards teaching participants the history,

Botanical Drawing
Explore the beauty of nature close up and sharpen your
observation skills as we study the details of plants and
natural objects. This introductory class will teach the
techniques of pencil drawing in both graphite and

Tennis Instruction
Beginners: No previous instruction is required. Teaching includes

Westmont Walking Challenge
Compete against yourself and others in The Westmont Walking
Challenge. This competition involves not only exercise but
also the outdoors. All you have to do is log your miles
wherever you walk in Westmont. Last year the winner walked
a Walking Challenge record of 115.6 miles. Is anybody up for
the challenge of setting a new record? For avid walkers this
gives you the opportunity to get rewards for an activity that
already comes natural to you. When you sign up you will be
given a tracking sheet to keep track of your miles throughout the summer. The sheet will be collected three times
throughout the summer to calculate the total amount of miles
you have accumulated. The top three individuals will get a
variety of different prizes including a free month membership
to our fitness club.

Tae Kwon Do
This class is designed to teach individuals ages 6 & up the physical
and mental aspects of the Korean martial arts- Tae Kwon Do. The
course will focus on self-defense, forms, punching, kicking and mental
training techniques designed to help an individual’s self-improvement.
In addition, students shall learn the history and terminology of Tae
Kwon Do while applying its contents. As a result, an individual will
learn self-discipline, self-confidence, physical coordination, sportsmanship, and respect for application at home and school.
Parent involvement is encouraged; any parent may join with their child
at no cost other than the purchase of a uniform. All classes are taught
by black belt instructors of Lion’s Martial Arts of Woodridge, under
the direction of seventh degree black belt Master Chung Kim. A uniform is required for promotion test and is recommended for class. You
must purchase uniform and handbook from the instructor.
Promotion exam will be held on September 25.

Walk and Talk group will not meet June 6-June 24; the program is
temporarily suspended as the Community Center gym will be busy with

you to walk outdoors on one of the many walking paths available at your
various parks. There is a short paved path at Veterans Memorial Park
behind the Community Center and a longer, 1 mile paved path at Ty
Warner Park. Walk & Talk will resume on Monday, June 27.
Shape Up
You will receive a complete workout with interval-training techniques,
cardiovascular endurance and strength training. Get a fun mix of step,
hand weights, bands, tubing, balls and more. Your muscles will be
constantly guessing. A cool down, abdominal work and a light stretch

In the event that rules are not being followed, the Westmont Park
District may elect to temporarily or permanently close this facility.
% Helmets are mandatory to use the facility. It is also strongly
recommended that users wear other equipment, such as wristguards,
elbow pads, knee pads, etc.
% No use of the facility after 10:00PM.
% Bike use is limited to BMX style bikes, no mountain bikes.
% Metal bike pegs are not allowed. Plastic pegs or pegs with insulate
sleeves only.
% Scooters, other wheeled or sliding devices, and persons not skating
are not allowed to use the skate equipment.
% No personally owned apparatus, such as ramps, boxes, etc. may be
brought into or used at the facility.
% Be courteous of neighbors and other park users. Profanity and loud
music is not allowed in or around the facility.
% No tagging, graffiti, or stickers are allowed.
% Food and glass containers are not allowed in the skating area.
% Smoking is not allowed in the facility.
% All users are responsible for inspecting equipment prior to use to
ensure that no hazards are present. Do not use broken or wet

Providing Recreation Programs and Services for Individuals with Disabilities
SEASPAR, the South East Association for Special Parks And
Recreation, is a cooperative of Westmont Park District and ten
neighboring communities. The association provides
year-round recreation and social opportunities for more than
two thousand individuals with disabilities. Our team of
full-time therapeutic recreation professionals and trained
part-time staff and volunteers lead programs that promote
self-esteem, physical, social, and recreational skill
development, all in a fun learning environment. SEASPAR
serves as an extension of each member community and is
committed to providing comprehensive recreation
opportunities for all of their residents.
Inclusion assistance is provided by SEASPAR to those
individuals who wish to participate in their home district
program. When registering for a program, the park district
or recreation department should be informed of any
accommodations needed in order to successfully participate
in the program.

tools to hammer, bend and cut. Copper, aluminum and silver were used

three times a year, gives you current information on trips,
special events, services and programs. To cover mailing

from January to December.
Both residents and non-residents of Westmont are

the Westmont Park District and enhance your picnic, outing or
get-together. Pack includes: equipment bag with 1 soccer ball,
2 softballs & 2 bats, 1 playground ball, volleyball, and 1 croquet set. A
$50 credit card deposit is required to insure return of equipment in good
order. You must reserve your picnic pack in advance. For weekend reservations, Picnic Packs are available for pick-up on Friday and must be

1. All Park District resident registration forms received by May 17 will be held and randomly
processed as the first batch of registrations on May 18. All registration forms received on or after
May 18 will be randomly processed on a daily basis. Non-resident registration begins May 25.
2. If a program chosen has an opening available, your registration is processed and a receipt
confirmation will be mailed within approximately 5 working days.
3. If programs chosen have reached maximum enrollment, your name will be placed on a waiting
list, and you will be notified. Every attempt is made to accommodate the persons on these lists.
Please be sure to read through the receipt message carefully for an explanation of your
registration status.
Proof of Residence
Non-Resident Fee
Policies set forth by the Westmont Park District
Board of Commissioners define a resident as
anyone living within the boundary of the
Westmont Park District. Anyone working or
operating a business within the Park District
boundaries, but living outside the boundaries
shall not be considered a resident. We don’t
always recognize our neighbors; from time to
time, we may ask to see proof of residence when
you register for programs in person. All new
residents must show proof of residency.
Part of the cost of programs is assumed with tax
dollars. Therefore, those who are not residents of
the Westmont Park District will be assessed a
non-resident fee. Non-residents pay an additional
50% per program. Preschool, Day Camp and
Leagues may have different non-resident fee
structures. See program for details.
Accident Policy
The Westmont Park District does not provide
medical insurance coverage for injuries suffered
while participating in Park District programs,
or while using park facilities. The Park District
therefore, can assume no responsibility for
personal injury while participating in recreation
programs or while using park facilities.

Primary focus is on mail-in registration with a
daily lottery system. After a two week period, over
the counter registration will be accepted on a first
come first served basis.

A full refund will be issued if you are
dissatisfied after the 1st class with the
program or the program is cancelled by the
park district. A completed Refund Request
form must be submitted prior to the midpoint
of the program or within five working days
of a single meeting activity. This written
refund request form will help us improve the
service we provide. A refund will be issued
when a completed Refund Request form is
submitted five business days prior to the
first class meeting and will be subjected to a

refund will be made for participants who
decide, for whatever personal reason
(including injury or illness), that an ongoing
program is not right for them. The prorated
refund will be based on the number of
classes that have occurred at the time the
Refund Request form is received by the park
district. The Superintendant of Recreation
will consider exceptions to this policy due
to other extenuating circumstances. The
Refund policy excludes trip tickets,
preschool and camp deposits and adult sports
leagues. Please allow two weeks to receive
your refund check in the mail.

PHOTO POLICY: On occasion, the Park District staff may take photographs or video of participants in our programs or events or of people in our parks. Please be
aware that these are for Park District use, most likely in future program guides pamphlets or for local Public Access TV.
EMERGENCY TREATMENT PERMISSION: I understand that a minor may not be treated, even in an emergency situation, except when, in the opinion of the
attending physician, life is in the balance. Consent of a parent or legal guardian is necessary for unmarried minors under 18. Written consent is required for all other
treatment. Accordingly, as a parent and/or legal guardian, I do herewith authorize the treatment of the minor enrolling in this program in the event of a medical emergency.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT: I have read and fully understand Registration Policies, the “Release and Hold Harmless Agreement”, and the “Emergency Treatment
Permission”. This release and medical authorization form is complete and signed of my own free will even though I understand it is a requirement for participation in this program.
By signing this form I understand that trips, preschool, summer camps, and adult athletic deposits are non-refundable.
