DAN WEBER 360.921.2469 dan@danwebermusic.com BIO Award Winning songwriter Dan Weber has been described as “The classic mid-life overnight sensation.” A gifted storyteller and inspired performer, in 2013 Weber won 3rd place in the prestigious Woody Guthrie Songwriting Competition and the Silver Award in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. Previously he was a 2012 finalist in the legendary Kerrville ʻNew Folkʼ competition as well as the 2010 Dave Carter Memorial Songwriting Contest along with several other national and regional honors. An ex-Park Ranger, Weber follows the long tradition of songwriting legends, entertaining audiences with energetic performances and telling hilarious, true stories from the many roads heʼs traveled. Songs from his debut CD ʻAsh and Boneʼ received accolades from American Songwriter Magazine, the Great American Songwriting Contest, and the UKʼs Maverick Magazine said: “4 Stars: Has you hanging on to every word. Thatʼs the touch of a true master craftsman songwriter, quite indispensable.” The Victory Review magazine writes "Weber's writing is as strong as any in the Contemporary Folk community. ʻGoodbye to Dadʼ is one of the best original tunes that I have heard in a long time." Thereʼs also been recognition from DJʼs “ʼHank and Jesusʼ is easily the best folk song I heard last year. It has a timeless and authentic ʻMe and Bobby McGeeʼ feel to it” and legendary folk troubadour Ramblinʼ Jack Elliott said “I love Danʼs songs and he tells really good stories” In 2014 Weber begins a new chapter: A full-length follow up CD with favorites like ʻOh Woodyʼ, ʻWhat Iʼm Lookinʼ, and ʻCrazy ALL Dayʼ---a country-tinged anthem that is poised to be a breakout hit. The songs are heartbreaking, funny, rich in imagery, and full of lifeʼs hopes and ironies. With them Dan Weber brings an authentic voice to Timeless Stories. Come back soon!" - Suzan Lundy, McLundyʼs Green Room April 2011 "Amazingly new to the music trip, but Dan's stories and melodies sound like they were carved back there, somewhere.” - Inessa Anderson, KINK 101.9 FM Portland, OR May 2012 www.danwebermusic.com www.facebook.com/danwebermusic www.youtube.com/highway142 DAN WEBER 360.921.2469 dan@danwebermusic.com "Dan Weber's concert was amazing and the audience wanted more! (and we're rather picky)." - Andy Granitto, House Concert Host Oct 2012 "Dan Weber's recent performance at Music Millennium showed off his ability to tell a story, not just in his songs but also through his introductions. Vivid descriptions and lyrics draw the listener in as Weberʼs captivating tales unfold.” - Donna Adams with Sunny Clark, Oregon Music News Nov 2012 “Dan Weber was the consummate professional and was patient with me, knowing this was my first house concert. He engaged the audience from the outset both with his music and in-between-song banter and he had the whole house singing along! All in all it was a great show and a rousing good time.
