To find out what Port Authority route to take, visit portauthority.org and use the Trip Planner function. Trip Planner can be used to find the route that gives you the fastest trip or the shortest walking distance, or requires the fewest transfers. Transit trips can also be planned using Google Maps. 2. Tickets and schedules are available at the Customer Service Center, 534 Smithfield Street. Schedules are also available at the Downtown T stations. Call 412-442-2000 for more information. 3. To find out what regional transit agencies come into Downtown, go to Commuteinfo.org and click on “Transit Operator Information,” then link to the regional transit operator of your choice for further information. Biking & Walking Trails Free Fare Zone Bus riders can ride for free before 7 p.m., seven days a week, in the Downtown Free Fare Zone. After 7 p.m., bus riders pay a zone one fare to ride within Downtown. The T’s Free Fare Zone includes all the T stations from First Avenue to Allegheny Station on the North Shore. Riders may use this zone for free 24/7. See map for boundaries. Park-n-Rides Park your car in a park-n-ride lot and take public transit or carpool into Downtown. For detailed information about any parkn-rides in southwestern Pennsylvania, go to Commuteinfo.org and click on “Regional Park-n-Ride Facilities.” CommuteInfo CommuteInfo provides information about available commuting options. Carsharing Zipcar, a membership-based organization, has vehicles located in Downtown that can be reserved online 24/7 for an all-inclusive hourly or daily fee. Three Rivers Heritage Trail System A pedestrian trail and greenway system around Pittsburgh, along both sides of the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio Rivers, will extend 37 miles when completed. It is a unique way for cyclists, walkers and runners to connect with Downtown.Visit www.friendsoftheriverfront.org for detailed information and maps. Downtown Bike Racks When your bike is not in use, secure it to one of the many bike racks that can be found Downtown. See map for locations. Rack ‘n Roll All Port Authority bus routes are equipped with bike racks.Visit portauthority.org to view a video on using the bike racks. Bikes can also be brought aboard the T or Mon Incline at any time and stowed in the designated wheelchair spaces. However, riders in wheelchairs have priority over bicycles.
