Banja Luka in 2010. Although the economic crisis influenced on economic trends and overall development during the last year, NLB Razvojna banka achieved the positive operating results. Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Srpska had the positive rate of growth. In such environment NLB Razvojna banka achieved the planned result at the level of average rates. The Bank did not change its business strategy and retained its role as one of the most significant participant at the banking market of the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. We achieved the good result operating with retail and corporate sector. The highest growth is achieved in retail sector, and especially good results are shown by deposit activities of citizens' saving. The Bank fulfills all imposed criteria and showed the relative indicators in the scope and on the level of the previous years. We achieved a good cooperation with InvestmentDevelopment Bank of the Republic of Srpska. In the previous period we placed over 135 million BAM of funds from the credit line of InvestmentDevelopment Bank of the Republic of Srpska, whereof 95 loans were placed to companies and municipalities in total amount of 87 million BAM and 788 loans were placed to physical persons and entrepreneurs in the amount of 48 million BAM. The ownership structure was not changed in 2010. Also, there was not the bigger fluctuation of clients. The relative participation of 15 the biggest depositors of the Bank is decreased as well as 15 the biggest loan users. The Bank showed its social responsibility through huge number of donations to the cultural, humanitarian and sport activities. NLB Razvojna banka achieved total income in the amount of 78,3 million BAM, expense in the amount of 67,6 million BAM and net profit in the amount of 8,9 million BAM. As of December 31, 2010. gross assets of the Bank amounted to 1.052.993 BAM. Such result is also achieved due to the good personnel policy, providing the adequate number of employees, so there were no compulsive decrease of the number of employees and dismissals. Banja Luka We have audited the submitted financial statements of NLB Razvojna banka a.d. Banja Luka (hereinafter "Bank"), which comprise the balance sheet as of December 31, 2010. and income statement, statement of changes in equity and cash flow statement for the year then ended, summary of significant accounting policies and other explanatory notes to the financial statements. Management's Responsibility for the Financial Statements Management is responsible for the preparation and fair presentation of these financial statements in accordance with the Law on Accounting and Auditing of the Republic of Srpska, the Law on Banks and the decisions of the Banking Agency of the Republic of Srpska. This responsibility includes: design, implementation and maintenance of internal controls relevant for the preparation and fair presentation of financial statements that are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error; selection and application of appropriate accounting policies and preparation of accounting reports that are reasonable in some circumstances. The audit involves application of procedures to obtain audit evidence about the amounts and disclosures in the financial statements. The selection of procedures depends on the auditor's judgment, including the assessment of the risks of material misstatements of the financial statements, whether due to fraud or error. In making those risk assessments, the auditor considers internal controls relevant to the preparation and fair presentation of the financial statements of the Bank, in order to select adequate audit procedures that are appropriate in the circumstances, but not for the purpose of expressing an opinion on the effectiveness of the internal controls. The audit also includes evaluation of adequacy of applied accounting policies and acceptability of accounting estimates made by management, as well as evaluation of overall presentation of the financial statements. We believe that the audit evidences we have obtained are sufficient and appropriate to provide a basis for our audit opinion. Interest Income Other Expense Interest expense in Income Statement amounts to BAM 23,514 thousand and it is related with accrued interest on interest-bearing deposits of customers and retail savings in all currencies, loan interest, as well as deferred interest on fixed deposits of legal and physical entities and deferred interest on taken loans. In expense structure, interest expense participates with 34.95%. Other operating expense amounting to BAM 39,805 thousand (59.17% of total expenses) includes: - net indirect loan write-offs expense -12,290 thousand BAM (18.27% of total expenses), - depreciation expense – 2,654 thousand BAM - wages and contributions expense - 14,535 thousand BAM (21.61% of total expenses), - materials and services expense - 2,845 thousand BAM (4.23% of total expenses) - lease expense – 847 thousand BAM (1.26%) - advertising expense - 1,116 thousand BAM (1.66%) - representation expense - 158 thousand BAM (0.23%) - deposit insurance - 1,436 thousand BAM (2.13%) - other expense - 3,924 thousand BAM (5.83% of total expenses). As of December 31, 2010. loans placed to clients include corporate loans amounting to BAM 397,066 thousand and retail loans amounting to BAM 243,503 thousand. Calculated interest amounted to BAM 5,348 thousand. Corporate loans structure is as follows: - short-term loans amount to BAM 47,563 thousand (12.09%), - long-term loans amount to BAM 317,702 thousand ( 80.75%) and - payable loans amount to BAM 28,173 thousand (7.16%) Retail Loans Structure of corporate loans as of December 31, 2010. Balance of loans to physical entities as of December 31, 2010. amounted to BAM 241,783 thousand. Retail deposits amount to BAM 459,710 thousand (at sight deposits - 218,199 thousand BAM, short-term deposits - 21,140 thousand BAM, long-term deposits 220,371 thousand BAM). Corporate deposits amount to BAM 313,439 thousand, (at sight deposits - 198,992 thousand BAM, short-term deposits - 60,675 thousand BAM, long-term deposits 53,772 thousand BAM). Average monthly number of payment orders in 2010. amounted to 542,500, and 646,300 in 2009. In total number of transactions, it was realised 72% of internal transactions and 28% of external transactions. In 2010. average monthly market participation of the Bank in the number of outflow transactions with the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina amounted to 5.68%, while participation in transactions value amounted to 6.85%. In 2009. market participation of the Bank in the number of transactions amounted to 6.31%, while participation in transactions value amounted to 8.27%. The number (16%) of transactions value is decreased (9.84%) when compared with the same period in 2009. Achieved income for services provided in 2010. amounted to BAM 12,233 thousand, representing increase of income for 1% when compared with 2009. (BAM 12,109 thousand). Bearing in mind decrease of extent in domestic payment operations, increase in total income is achieved by increase of activities and income in payment cards operations. E-banking As of December 31, 2010. the Bank had 2,803 e-banking users, whereof 1,412 legal entities and 1,391 physical persons. When compared with December 31, 2009. the number of e-banking users is increased for 12.93%. In total cashless orders, e-banking orders participation is increased when compared with the same period in 2009. As of December 31, 2010. in total cashless orders, ebanking orders participation amounted to 48.81%, whereof 15.72% are orders through e-bank and 33.09% are orders downloaded from e-files. As of December 31, 2010. the Bank had 16,496 SMS service users and 1,463 WEB Info service users. The number of SMS service users is increased 47.01% when compared with the same period in 2009. (11,221 users), and the number of messages is increased 41.67% when compared with the same period in 2009. As of December 31, 2010. the Bank maintained 4,863 foreign currency accounts of legal entities with status Active (5 non-resident accounts and 4,858 resident accounts), whereof 44% accounts were actively operated in 2010. or through which foreign payment operations were performed. In 2010. 404 the new foreign currency accounts of legal entities were opened and 191 accounts were terminated due to inactivity. Foreign-Correspondent Accounts and the Achieved Volume of Foreign Payment Operations Foreign payment operations were performed over six accounts held with NLB Group and ten accounts held with other foreign banks. In 2010. the achieved foreign outflow amounts to EUR 405,189 thousand, while in 2009. it amounted to EUR 394,401 thousand. In 2010. the number of made transactions upon clients’ orders is increased for 0.20%. According to total number of made transactions, 49.73% transactions are made through the banks of NLB Group, and 50.27% through other foreign-correspondent banks. In 2010. the achieved foreign inflow amounts to EUR 226,824 thousand, while in 2009. it amounted to EUR 216,506 thousand. In 2010. the number of transactions received in the Bank’s IT system based on foreign payments in favour of client’s account is increased for 12.22%. According to total number of received transactions, 38.14% transactions are received over accounts held with the banks of NLB Group, and 61.86% transactions are received over accounts held with other foreign-correspondent banks. www.nlbrazvojnabanka.com 33 Share Capital Payment Cards In 2010. payment cards operations were increased through all parameters, including the number of cards, ATMs and POS terminals, the number and value of transactions when compared with the same period in 2009. Total number of cards is increased for 6.80% when compared with December 31, 2009. The number of ATM transactions is increased for 20%, and the amount of paid funds through ATM 34 is increased for 9.20% when compared with the same period in 2009. As of December 31, 2010. the number of ATMs amounts to 58. We actively work on extension of trading network and activation of existing network. Within this period, 18 employees started to work, whereof 9 with graduate degree, 1 with under- graduate degree, 7 with secondary school degree and 1 non-qualified. As of December 31, 2010. the Bank had totally 508 employees, whereof 21 were employed for definite period of time, out of whom 4 were trainees.
