We Build, We Fight!
Living up to their motto – “We Build, We Fight,” the U.S.
Navy Seabees have served our nation proudly for 73 years
and have an unsurpassed reputation for getting the job
done. More than a decade of military operations in Iraq
and Afghanistan have taken a toll on members of this
elite team. In addition to the 18 Seabees killed in action,
nearly 100 have been wounded in action. While some
were able to bind their wounds and return to full duty,
others with more severe injuries had their lives changed
forever.
It is for this reason that the Seabee Purple Heart
Scholarship Golf Classic is establishing a scholarship fund
to help support those wounded Seabees by removing the
burden of their children’s education from their shoulders.
