Useful Information Advice Over the three days much of the City Centre will be pedestrianised so that spectators can enjoy this family friendly free event. The City Centre is open for business on all three days. Watch out for special offers in cafes, hotels, restaurants and shops. A full list of road closures is available on www.royaldeluxelimerick.ie Plan Your Journey Please allow plenty of time to travel to Limerick over the three days. The Giant will travel a total of 19km while in Limerick, starting and stopping throughout each of the days. This map gives details in both map and word form of the routes and the Giant’s Journey. Shuttle Buses Shuttle bus services to the city centre will operate from approved out of town car parking sites. Park and Walk sites closer to the city will also be available. They have since performed in front of more than 18 million spectators in over 170 cities, in 40 countries on five continents. In Limerick from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th of September, Royal de Luxe will deliver a unique Irish urban tale, bringing their Giant’s Saga to Ireland for the first time. The Giant will tell a story in the city over three days of free family entertainment. The Giant is handled, like a marionette, by tens of Lilliputians, which have become a directly identifiable signature of the company. 5th, 6th & 7th 5th, 6th & 7th SEPTEMBER SEPTEMBER 2014 2014 Over three days Limerick will be transformed, and the hearts and imaginations of all who visit will be captivated by The Giant’s Journey. She proceeds to make her way up Lower Cecil Street back onto O’Connell Street up to The Crescent, turning onto Barrington Street, Pery Square, Upper Mallow Street, onto Lord Edward Street arriving at Sarsfield Barracks 6.40 approx. (which will remain open for a further 2 hours) 10am – 12.30pm (approx) Grandmother wakes up at 10am in Sarsfield Barracks and sets off on her journey around the City, taking in Lord Edward Street, Friday 5th September Parnell Street, Upper William Street, down William Street, over Sarsfield Bridge, turning right onto Clancy’s Strand, continuing over Thomond Bridge onto Castle Street and Island Road arriving at Lee Estate.7th September Sunday 4pm – 6.15pm (approx) Grandmother wakes in Lee Estate and continues onto Island Saturday Road, turning6th rightSeptember onto Bridge Street, Rutland Street, Patrick Street, O’Connell Street, Lower Cecil Street, Henry Street, Mill Lane, Bishop’s Quay, Howley’s Quay, Lower Shannon Street, Henry Street, Sarsfield Bridge, Clancy’s Strand, High Road, Thomondgate, Sexton Street North to Hassett’s Cross, left onto Shelbourne Road into Shelbourne Park 6.15 approx. Departing Merchant’s Quay, Rutland Street, Patrick Street, Sarsfield Street onto Sarsfield Bridge and departs by boat on The River Shannon.
