Dear Friend,
Connecting Caring Communities (CCC) is a comprehensive community initiative and
faith-based nonprofit operating in Abilene, Texas. We exist to build meaningful
relationships that foster safe, caring, whole communities. Our efforts are
relationship-driven and neighborhood-based.
We work city-wide uniting neighbors and connecting people through our Caring
Team. We are transforming blocks and increasing safety through our Haven House
leaders. Our Friendship Houses – which currently operate in the College Heights,
North Park, and Valley View neighborhoods – are transforming these areas and
increasing the quality of life for all of our neighbors. Year-round programming
involves people of all ages and backgrounds in out-of-school programming,
educational opportunities and relationship-building activities. These programs build
neighborhood safety, pride and connections that lead to economic stability and
growth for individuals, families, neighborhoods and local businesses.
On Saturday, October 5, 2013 CCC will host our third annual “Community
Celebration” featuring a Cow Patty Drop and Movin’ at Midnight 5K Run/Walk.
This unique fundraiser will include entertainment from community organizations,
games, food, and good “old fashioned” family fun! The event will run from 10:00
am to 1:00 pm and will be located outside of the former New Haven Community
Church (650 Corsicana Ave), which continues to serve as a gathering place for
residents of the Alameda Addition neighborhood. We enjoyed connecting with 200
community participants and 89 runners/walkers at last year’s Celebration and are
excited to see the Celebration grow once again this year.
The money raised will be used to expand our Caring Team, Haven House and
Friendship House efforts into more Abilene neighborhoods and to help secure
CCC’s long-term sustainability. We hope that you will partner with us by investing in
our community through this great event! There are several levels of sponsorships
available from which you may choose on the enclosed proposal.
