Irelands leading architectural doorset manufacturers,
covering all sectors including hotel, airport, commercial,
health, education, ministry of defence, leisure and luxury

Boomer has designed processes, services and production
methods that are focused on delivering precision made
door sets. The “Boomer Pre-Hung Door Set” is exactly
what it says. The customer receives a pre constructed
frame of timber, MDF or PVC, hinged and hung with a
door of choice that can be fitted with customer specified
ironmongery and glazing that is manufactured and fitted
under factory conditions, guaranteeing a remarkable
degree of accuracy.

What are the benefits of a Boomer Pre Hung Door Set?
A “Boomer Pre Hung Door Set” is a fully finished engineered element comprising of frame, pre hung door leaf (with any vision
panels), door stop, architrave and essential ironmongery that when delivered to site can be installed in under 10 minutes.
All components are machined using
the latest CNC machinery for accuracy
and consistency so when supplied as
a complete unit the technical integrity
is maintained in order to comply with
the relevant building regulations and
ensure the fire integrity of the door
assembly is maintained.
When using our hybrid PVC or MDF
frame with matching architrave and
skirting it cuts out the needs for wet
trades, greatly reduces installation
time and all fixings are concealed.
As well as reducing installation times,
our customers also achieve significant
reductions in waste, snagging and
site losses – all resulting in increased
profitability and capacity.

Independent research has addressed commonly held misconceptions about the capital costs of pre hung door sets by using an
objective comparison of realistic, current market prices compared with those of site assembled unitary components. The research
was done over three real projects from reputable, national door contractors. With all building types considered, savings in capital
costs were shown for door sets over the average for contractors using site assembled unitary components clearly showing that:

Design Considerations
Single Leaf
The drawings below set out the terminology for typical doorset
configurations and handing’s for use in specifications. Configuration,
size, construction and performance characteristics are all interrelated.
Specific size ranges for particular products can be found in individual
BWF-CERTIFIRE product data sheets. Boomer manufacture all door
leaf sizes to suit individual requirements.

Door Types
At Boomer we offer a wide range of door types that meet the needs of almost every commercial and residential application.
Acoustic
Acoustic rated doorsets are tested to Rw27dB, Rw33dB, Rw38dB, and Rw43dB. These 4 categories satisfy the requirements of
BB93.
Health
These doorsets are specifically designed to meet the requirements of HTM 58. Special adaptations are available to meet the
needs of health establishments such as X-ray, clean rooms etc.
Glazed Screens & Doors
A number of glazed screens and doors can be supplied using the standard Boomer frame section in order to comply with fire
certification.
Internal Doorsets
These quick turnaround doorsets are supplied with doors and frames pre-assembled if required. Ironmongery can be supplied
loose or fully factory-fitted. They are manufactured to deliver a range of performances from heavy domestic applications to
severe industrial duty.
Fire Rated
We can provide a range of fire and smoke seal rated doors up to and including FD60S.
External Doors
External doorsets with an integral vapour barrier for added protection against twist and warp due to water ingress. These
doorsets prevent the ingress of moisture and therefore prevent a humidity imbalance, which can cause the doors to distort
Frame Types
Our doorsets for commercial applications are supplied with frames in the standard types, sizes and finishes as detailed below:

Timer frames are factory machined Redwood as standard.
•
Smoke and intumescent sealing strips are factory fitted according to required specification.
•
Frame depths range from 94mm to 250mm other sizes are available on request.
•
Hardwood frames can be supplied to match the door veneer.
Fixing holes are pre-drilled with matching hardwood pellets supplied to cover screw fixings.

Vision Panels
Boomer are a Certifier licensed manufacturer of
glazed and unglazed apertures in doorsets. With
many doors now only carrying certification if
apertures are machined by Certifier accredited
suppliers you can be confident that the glazed
aperture supplied by Boomer meets the
specification contained within the fire test
certificate.
Typical Vision Panel Sizes and Positions (Doc M and
BS8300)
Door leaves and side panels that are in excess of
450mm wide must be provided with viewing panels
giving a zone of visibility between 500mm and
1500mm from floor level. The requirement applies
to all entrance doors and to those internal doors
where vision is appropriate.
The configurations shown below are a selection of
our standard vision panels, non-standard versions
are available on request, we also offer a variety
of glass types including clear, wired, etched and
textured.

Boomer offer a range of real wood veneers that can be crown cut, or quarter cut, depending on species selected.
Doors are fully factory finished, hardwood lipping’s and glazing beads are also supplied to complement or contrast.
