President’s Message:
Rendezvous 2014 is just around the corner and the coins are all bought,
registrations are arriving daily from all over the west coast, and final
arrangements are coming together nicely. This will be another great
event and provide the funds needed for the club to continue to operate
this year.
But we still need your help to make this event successful and share in the work load. I expect
all members to make an effort to drive out (its only an hour away) and pitch in even if only for a
couple of hours. We can use help with setup on Friday starting around noon. Help all day
Saturday with planting the hunt field and manning the booths, cooking food, handing out prizes,
overseeing the hunt field and much more. Sunday morning is more of the same and then we
have cleanup and tear down around noon.

Easter

10 Years Ago this
month April 1994
What a fun weekend at Rendezvous 2004.
Friday we set up all the fields and booths and
had the early bird hunt. It was a bright and
sunny day, warm at night. Saturday was damp,
dark, rainy and muddy. But the hunts went on
and we all had a good time. Sunday the sun
was out again, the mud was gone and the last
hunts’ went well. There was nothing but good
things said about our Rendezvous.

Westcoasters’ 94, held at Lake Perris fairgrounds,
was later in the month 20 years ago so more on
that next month.
Jerry Hobbs from Public Lands for the People
(PLP) along with Garret Wetherby provided an
excellent program for the April meeting. They
spoke about regulations affecting our hobby and
PLP’s efforts to help enable us to use our land
freely. A motion was made and passed to join the
PLP as a club.
From the Find of the Month results: John Forrey,
using his trusty Whites Eagle 90.5, took 1st place
with a 1920 Italian 20 cent coin, 2nd place for Best
