Greetings Members: Here we are moving into July, and I have to
say I am extremely proud to be representing our lodge as your Exalted
Ruler. I would especially like to thank my convention committee for
putting together a most memorable and awesome convention weekend. They really set the tone for a successful convention! And successful it was! Our float committee led the way again winning 1st
place. Your Esquire and Exalted Ruler as well as the Color Guard all
took first place, and we won 1st place for Best Dressed! We placed in
all major categories. Our entire Marching Unit looked sharp! Along
with our members and friends cheering us on, making sure the judges
knew who we are, all contributed to our lodge bringing home the ultimate award…THE
GOVERNOR’S TROPHY!!!! Great job everyone! Stop by the lodge and view all of the
awards. The committees are running on all eight cylinders. We continually receive compliments from other lodges in our district and also from the SWD officers for the good work that
our lodge continues to do. And, on behalf of the lodge, I would like to thank all of the committees and applaud you for your continued hard work.
Please continue to support all of our committees. AND REMEMBER, THEY CAN
ALWAYS USE MORE VOLUNTEERS. PLEASE CONSIDER LENDING A HELPING HAND.

CHAPLAIN’S PEW
Well members another month has gone by and a lot of
things are getting done and repaired at the lodge.
I would like to thank the Can Do committee for all of
the hard work they do keeping the lodge and it's
grounds maintained, it is a never ending job. The air
conditioning unit on the roof is going to be replaced
soon, it is one of the few original one's left from the
1980's. Flowers are being planted around the lodge
that we received from the Ladies Auxiliary . We are
still receiving bids to repair some block and stucco on
the side of building before it gets any worse. The
Board wants to thank everyone for their support and
hard work helping maintain and clean the lodge, we
would also like to ask that anyone using the kitchen to
take the time and make sure whatever is used is
cleaned properly and put back where it belongs. We
have received some complaints that appliances are
not being cleaned properly and utensils and dishes
are not being put back where they belong.

I see that everyone is enjoying the 6 TV’s. That is fantastic! Baseball season has begun, yes we have all the
games, with our Direct TV package and Fios service
there is a good chance your teams game is televised,
so come on out and enjoy!
Any committee or person who would like to help by donating money is greatly appreciated.
With the help of several committees the A/V committee
has over $4000 toward the Surveilance System.
Chairman Bill Johnson presented us with a check for
$500 from the Special Youth Activities Committee and
just recently a $2000.00 donation from the House
Committee thanks to ER Carmen Adonizio, and his
committee’s hard work last year making a record profit
for the house.

start to move forward with the Board of Directors in
deciding what plan of action to take next.

WOMEN’S AUXILIARY
June was another busy month for the women’s auxiliary! Thanks to all the members who helped to make all our events
successful.
I hope all had a great time and shared some memories at the Wildwood Convention. Congratulations to our ER, Carmen
Adonizio, his officers, marchers, and lodge members for another winning year! Thanks to all who provided food during
the ER picnic.
Thanks to all who participated in our annual White Elephant event held on June 8 th at our general meeting.
Our annual gift auction was a great success again this year. We had great gifts and all our winners went home happy. A
special thanks to Charlotte Elmer and Donna Papp who chaired this event and to Rosemary Becker and Sue Stager who
ran the kitchen. Our successful event is attributed to all who helped and supported our auction in any way.

Our convention is Wildwood was a wonderful experience! The true spirit of brotherly love shone
throuugh every minute of every day. The weather
was fantastic, the food was excellent and the
awards were many.
Here is a list of our first place winners:
Best float, Best dressed, Best color guard, Best
esquire, Best exalted ruler, and the (drum roll
please), GOVERNOR'S TROPHY!!!!! The Governor's trophy found its way home to Bordentown.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank my
Convention Committee crew. They worked furiously to make this one of the best conventions
ever. I think they made it just that.

VETERANS
With the SW District we held our 4th annual Military
Appreciation Picnic. We had over 500 attending and
all had a great time. Notes already taken for next
year.
AMERICANISM GREAT NEWS
The Bordentown Department of Public Works is in
the process of completing a drop off bin for retired
American Flags at the Department of Public Works
Yard 266 Crosswicks Road. We had to remove our
collection box since all avenues of proper disposal
had been closed to us.
The Ten Principles of American Patriotism
X. Our Founders wisely separated church and
state, but not God and state. How could they when
the Declaration of Independence says God is the
basis of our nation? We have a secular government
but a religious society. Our government makes no
religious test of civic officials but nevertheless requires moral behavior of them, using moral standards arising from religious traditions, especially the
Ten Commandments of Judeo-Christianity which
became the basis of English—and hence American—civil law. God and nation are one. However,
the Creator whom we recognize as the fountainhead
of American government and society is not the exclusive property of any denomination. The First
Amendment prohibits any denomination from becoming the established, official religion of America;
likewise it prohibits government from interfering with
religious freedom and thereby allows we the people
to have full public expression of religion according to
one’s conscience
Thus concludes the Ten Fundamental Principles
of Patriotism.

Ongoing projects*Collecting sample size toiletries, books, batteries, CD’s, DVD’s and all occasion greeting cards for Vineland and the troops
and The Mission of Honor donations. . Also, we
are still collecting manufacturer’s coupons to
send to our enlisted families overseas. They can
be 1 – 2 moths past date when we send them. If
you could take a few minutes, cut them out and
divide them between food (anything you swallow, meds, etc.) and non food it would be a great
help.

In May, we participated in 2 more events - Freehold Elks Army of Hope Ride and Jamesburg Elks Veterans breakfast and General
Doyle Memorial Day Ceremony. In June we participated in Brian Harley Davidson's fundraiser riding through 6 Bucks County covered Bridges and we will be riding to Lacey Elks to support Autism. For these events, we traveled over to 3000 miles round trip
and donated approximately $720.
We donated $100 to the SWD Veterans Golf Tournament.
