Mr. Field h a s held his present post for the past thirteen y e a r s . The course will be given in D-200, Monday, Wednesday and T h u r s d a y at 9 a.m. The background of Indian culture will be presented in order to give a d e e p e r insight into the s t r e a m of literary creative in India. This course will be a p r e r e q u i s i t e for other courses on Indian literature which will be given next year. Mr. Rao, who gives the course, m a k e s use of document a r y films obtained from the Indian consulate. By Andy Neiderman and Bob Baker All the literary novitiate a r e invited to participate in the Primer meeting, Tuesday, D e c e m b e r 12, 8:00 p.m., 371 Hamilton Street (below L a r k ) . Mr. Arthur Collins will discuss and catechize Primer poetry, past - present - future. Mr. Collins will read from an article which he contributed to the Penguin an attempt in 1957 to supplant the P r i m e r . There will be two issues of the P r i m e r this year. The deadline for the manuscripts submitted for the first issue is J a n u a r y 10th. The object of these informal faculty talks is to acquaint the student body with the organization. We feel there are too many students who do not know what trie P r i m e r is, or even that there is a literary magazine on c a m p u s . The major problem the P r i m e r faces is how to put out two issues with a one issue budget. Almost all the other State Universities put out quarterlies. Oneonta, an obscure mountain school has two grand alloted. We are alloted about half that sum and our school's enrollment doubles Oneo n t a ' s . Refreshments will be served at the expense of the editors. cJtOtlAe JtOUUi Psi G a m m a President Lucille Monaco announces that Mary Jo Sollecito and D i a n e Stevenson, S o p h o m o r e s , have been selected as pledge captains. iqgg Sigma Alpha Sigma Phi Sigma Acting Presidenl I >"iina I'; Tonight Sigma Phi Sigma will go has announced thai i ami (Jin, to KPI for a caaual get-together, '(i.'l is the new W'AA i. prcil'll!;, „ , ,. , , replacing Pat M a d ) , , • • I I i;t President D o n s Edclstein h a s announced that Beth Rector and Elise E n g e l h a r d l , Sophomores, a r e in charge of Pledge Supper.
