Subdivision Spotlight Gainey Ranch Gainey Ranch is located in the heart of Scottsdale. Bordered by Eastwood Lane on the south, Mountain View on the north, Scottsdale Road on the west and Hayden Road on the east, Gainey Ranch has a distinctive European flair with small village type communities each with their own heated pool and homeowners associations. At the center of the master planned developments are the Hyatt Resort Hotel, executive offices, retail and Three Nine hole golf courses. All this came to be when the employees of a Minnesota department store presented their owner, Daniel C. Gainey, with a yearling Arabian Colt. Mr. Gainey was so enamored with the horse he moved it to a 640 acre section of land in the unincorporated town of Scottsdale, Arizona. Over the next four decades Gainey Ranch became highly respected in Arabian circles, developing their own pedigree “The Gainey Foundation Arabian Horse.” In 1980, the Gainey family sold all but 80 acres which they retained for their purebred Angus cattle. Many local residents remember fondly these beautiful Black Angus specimens grazing peacefully along Scottsdale Road south of DoubleTree as this world class destination grew up around them. It wasn’t until 1995 that this last parcel was sold to make way for the shops at Gainey and the Gainey Suites hotel. Today Gainey Ranch has approximately 1000 residents secured behind high walls and accessed only through private guard gates. Residences range from condos to golf villas to sprawling estates. The current active listings in Gainey Ranch run from a 785sq. ft. condo in the Courts for $275,000 to a 8020sq. ft. Gainey Ranch Golf Club luxury home for $2,977,000 on Vaquero Drive. The homes sold in Gainey Ranch over the last year range from $175,000 for a 1000sq. ft. unit to $1,830,000 for a 4791sq. ft. estate. The average price per square foot was $280.00. “The current active listings in Gainey Ranch run from an 785sq. ft. condo in the Courts for $275,000 to a 8020sq. ft. luxury home for $2,977,000 on Vaquero Drive.
