Third Crossing Orange Beach (Underground) Gulf Shores Florida Ave Gulf Shores Water Tower Romar Beach Shellbank Gulf Park Proposed Plan • • • Directional Bore from Florida Avenue Substation to Sapling Point approximately 120 below the Intracoastal Waterway Bore would travel between two city buildings at a depth of over 110 below ground surface. New Transmission Line would be encased in 36 steel pipe. Construction • HDD Contract Underway – Southeast Directional Drilling Began November, 2011. Complete May, 2012. • Contractor plans 10-12 hour workdays beginning at 7 am. • Begin installation of 60 Carrier Casing underneath Florida Avenue Substation November 28th. Should take 5-7 days. • Sent Request for Exception to Noise Ordinance 11-23-11. HDD Schedule Questions?
