YEAR I
Workshop: Tallinn –
City of Fortune
Format: poster
Year: 2006
Project seniors: Serge Rompza,
Katja Gretzinger (Germany)
Each of the participants of the workshop was
randomly assigned an area of the city (Tallinn) to
be marked by a poster. I recieved the spot of the
final stop “Ülemiste” for trams 2 ja 4. At this time
road construction works prevented this area from
functioning in terms of tramm traffic. The final stop
became not more than lifeless historical object.
I marked this spot with a poster wich depicted
redesigened sign of a historical landmark.
Fanzine
Format: booklet
Year: 2006
Project senior: Bart de Baets (Holland)
A 16 page A5 booklet, which is dedicated to
thing I am a fan of: clash of my favorites football
players and superheroes.
Public Voice
Format: plakat
Year: 2006
Project senior: Bart de Baets (Holland)
For the radio of the Estonian Academy of Arts
each of the participants was suppose to create
an idea of interesting broadcast and promote
it with self-made printed materials. The idea of
my project “Public Voice” was the following:
everybody could choose their favorite song
from my private collection and mark it on the
Wishlist poster or if they hadn’t found one, write
it down on the Public Voice poster. Afterwards
the most popular songs were played during the
broadcast.
WISHLIST !!!
SPEAK OUT !!!
!!!PUBLIC VOICE!!!
JUST WRITE DOWN YOUR FAVOURITE SONG

This is a list of my favorite songs, so if some of them match YOURS mark them, please. Then we will
create a toplist, which you can hear on ... on November 17 at ... o`clock. Before every song I am gonna
announce names of those people who like to listen to it. This way YOU can all find some new friends
with similar music tastes.
So YOU may write YOUR name on a poster or send it to me by e-mail: public@artun.ee

Canary Booklet
Format: book
Year: 2007
Project senior: Hansje van Halem (Holland)
The theme “Growing Vegetables in a Small
Garden” was chosen by me from the list of all
of the Canary Booklet series. The book teaches
us how to create your own small garden in 7
weeks at the same time not forgetting about
leisure activities. One good proverb suggests:
“One who can’t rest, can’t work”. Inside the
book potato, cucumber, carrot and other seeds
can be found.
Workshop: One Mouthful,
One Concept
Format: poster
Year: 2007
Project senior: Louis Lüthi,
Kasper Andreasen (Danmark)
In this woodprint workshop we were supposed
to create A1 poster dedicated to reading habits.
Poster compares the way newspapers and
scientific books spread the same information.

YEAR II
Workshop: Collaboration
Format: book
Year: 2007
Partner: Kristin Väin
Project senior: Nina Larsen (Danmark)
The book “Collaboration exercises” describes
the cooperation of me and my partner. The book
researches and documents daily behavior of
ordinary people: grocery shops, preparation of
dinner and shopping. How they communicate,
find compromises and collaborate to achive a
common aim.
Workshop: 1m2
Format: poster
Year: 2007
Partners: Mihkel Virkus, Jaan Kroon
Project senior: Urs Lehni (Switzerland)
During The Days of Swiss Design we were
supposed to find a square meter of the city
(Tallinn) and depict it on a A0 poster to send
it on an exhibition to Switzerland. Our group
chose Swiss reading room in the Estonian
National Library. A talk with a Swiss person
residing in Estonia showed that the Swiss
respect and try to depict their flag everywhere.
Notebook 20
Format: book
Year: 2007
Project senior: Kristjan Mändmaa
What does it feel like to be 20 years old and live
in Tallinn? The book doesn’t give the answer.
It researches being 20 and lets you think and
decide on your own. The book includes useful
life test.
Workshop: Color
Format: poster
Year: 2008
Project senior: Matthias Kreutzer (Germany)
A series of posters for announcing the opening
of an exhibition “Color” by graphic design
department of Estonian Academy of Arts. With
the help of a professor of The Tallinn Technical
University lightwaves were measured using
a spectrometer in seven different spots of
Academy of Arts. Afterwards the posters were
supposed to be placed at those spots. Charts
showed, how lightwaves are divided into colors.
Posters are designed in Microsoft Excel.

Tallinn trolley colors are white and light blue.
Due to our rainy weather and grey architecture
they became sad and unnoticeable. I have
redesigned trolleys exterior adding more vivid
colors and useful information. Each trolley line
was allocated a famous estonian poet or writer
with his/her short biography.

Re-Hab Community
Format: social advertising
Year: 2009
Partners: Rene Rebane, Laura Pappa, Grete Gutman
Project senior: Keit Ein
For social enterprise Re-Hab Community, which deals
with addict rehabilitation, background research and
potential social advertising campaign analyses were
made.
The main point was to create less advertising and
give more pure information using as many different
media sources as possible: outdoors, ad-words,
stickers, traffic signs etc.
The texts on the slides:
“Drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Contact information”
“Is it possible to spread information through advertising
media, thus it doesn’t look like advertising?”
“Ads VS Pure Information”
III KURSUS
Workshop: Sauen ist überal
Format: research
Year: 2008
Partner: Kathrin K.
Project senior: Alex Jordan (Germany)
A five-day workshop “Sauen is everywhere” in a
small village near Berlin. The main point of this
project was to find out the opinions of locals
about their native village. We asked them to draw
their houses and answer four question: what was
the population, how many houses, streets and
dogs were in the village.
Ring Frei
Format: photography
Year: 2009
Project senior: Alex Jordan (Germany)
The series of photos of the Ringbahn of Berlin for
the “Ring Frei” book and web blog.
Workshop: Wall We Need
Format: wall painting
Year: 2009
Project seniors: Marco Walser (Switzerland) ,
Radim Peško (Czech Republic)
The workshop held in Berlin during “die Aktionklasse”
event, throughout wich we studied the informational
language in urban space and our purpose was to
transfer it onto the inner 16x4m wall using only the
color grey and typographie. “Kein Alk am Leo”
(No Alcohol on Leo, in german) was the name of an
article in the Strassen Fegel newspaper, which was
distributed by homeless’ or disabled in the streets of
Berlin. This article told us about drinking alcohol on
Leopold Square and banning it.
Leo was the name of one of the organizers of “Die
Aktionklasse”. We had a party the same day at the
same building. On our wall the meaning of “Kein Alk
am Leo” could be translated as No Alcohol for Leo
personally.
Documentary: Wall We Need
Format: raamat
