Current families, past parents, faculty and alumni all attend this special evening. Their enthusiasm and support helps ensure a bright future for Greenhills and all its students. Proceeds from this event support critical needs such as curriculum development, acquisition of teaching tools and supplies, fine and performing arts supplies, programming, athletics, financial aid and improvements to the building. Funds raised at A Night for Greenhills help sustain a great school experience for all our students. This year, the auction centerpiece is the Friedlander Outdoor Learning Center. This area will be a learning space, available to all disciplines, near the ponds, streams and forest at the north end of the Greenhills campus. Because it is outdoors, the Friedlander Outdoor Learning Center will be the most appropriate place on campus to learn about the natural world. But it will also be more than that: the space will be available for numerous other activities, including rehearsals, performances, discussions, quiet thinking, and community-building. Win a large screen smart TV! Only 52 cards will be sold. Give your bidder number to one of our auction volunteers to purchase a card. Winning card drawn after the live auction. Heads & Tails Game - $50 There is no better way to honor Tom and Martha Friedlander and their long-standing commitment to bring the natural environment home to future generations of Greenhills students. We hope you will bring the Friedlander Outdoor Center to fruition tonight. Casino Games Give your bidder number to the dealer to buy chips. Turn in your winning chips for raffle tickets. One prize per game will be awarded at the end of the evening. Wine Pull 5 Win a trip to Hilton Head! Give your bidder number to one of our auction volunteers to purchase a bracelet. Everyone can buy 1 bracelet. Play along with our auctioneer before the live auction. The last person standing wins! 6 Each bottle is worth at least $25, and each pull costs $25. Give the volunteer your bidder number and tell him/her how many bottles you would like. Draw a playing card for each bottle. The volunteer will match your card to the wrapped wine and give you your bottle(s). Dear Friends: Welcome to A Night for Greenhills, a celebration of the spirit of community that has sustained our school for nearly 50 years. That sense of community provides the underpinnings of our past success, and will ensure our students’ continuing success in the years ahead. You will be pleased to know that the school continues its habit of outsized achievement. Already this school year our students have: • Although the utmost effort has been made to accurately describe the sale items, Greenhills School shall not be responsible for correct description, authenticity or any defect in any item and makes absolutely no warranty of any kind in connection therewith. basketball; earned the right to send a National Science Bowl team to And that’s all outside the classroom. Within our walls, students have continued the work that defines Greenhills: they’ve studied Cervantes, been amused by Moliére, and been enchanted by musical historian the Rev. Robert Jones, Sr. They’ve examined the work of Euclid, studied the poetry of Rita Dove, and applied the Pythagorean Theorem. They’ve glazed pottery, painted portraits, and captivated audiences of their own with beautiful music. Make no mistake: it wouldn’t be possible without your support. Your demonstrated generosity extends beyond the financial. It also includes your tireless service toward the betterment of our school – service which is perhaps exemplified by the extraordinary efforts of the people who planned this evening’s events. The enthusiasm, enterprise, and elbow grease of auction chairs Steve Berger, Elizabeth DeRose, Chris Hugly, Ros Johnson, Terry Morrison, Christine Santucci, Christine Sotiroff, and Shireen Syed will be on display throughout the evening.
