AUCTION PROTOCOL SILENT AUCTION Bids will be accepted until the close of the silent auction is announced. A bid sheet will be displayed with each silent auction item. You may bid on these items by signing your name and indicating your bid amount. Signing a bidder sheet constitutes a legal contract to buy. You may bid on as many items as you wish. The high bidder at the close of the auction is the successful bidder. Once the silent auction has closed you may proceed to the auction close-out area to see if you have won and to make payment. Auction staff will be available to help you. $10 for 2 chances to qualify Sink the 15 ft qualifying putt and be entered into a drawing for the chance to sink a 70 ft putt and win $5,000 cash! ACCEPTABLE PAYMENT METHODS INCLUDE: Cash, Personal Check made out to the E.J. Brabants Memorial Fund, Visa, MasterCard or American Express. We thank you for your participation! All items have been donated to the Edmund J. Brabants Memorial Fund and are sold by the Fund, not the donor. Those items that are “services” in nature will be rendered at a time and place mutually agreeable to the donor and purchaser, but unless otherwise specified, must be used within one year from the date of the auction. We have made every reasonable effort to describe each item correctly that is included in the program. All items are sold “as is” and without warranties or representation of any kind. All sales are FINAL. Buddy did it in 2004 and so can you! At the Member-Guest tournament in 2004, Buddy and his partner Bob Butler qualified for the $5,000 putt-off by winning the Invitational Putting Contest. Each player had one shot at making a 70 foot putt for the money. They had to sneak away from a wedding reception in order to take their shots at the dough. In front of a crowd of 100, Buddy rolled the putt right into the center of the hole. The crowd went wild and Buddy and his partner split the $5,000. The funds raised today will benefit education. It is hard to believe that five years have passed. Tragedy is a crash course to understanding, that every day is a gift to be treasured. Some days are easier than others, but we are grateful for them all. Some of the best days, prove to be the hardest. These are the times you wish someone you have lost was there to share a moment, an achievement, a story or advice. Gene Ellison hosted an incredible party this past March, when his daughter Julie married her college sweetheart. It was wonderful to see our old friends and reminisce about growing up in Dover and great times at WCC. We danced and told stories about Buddy. We remembered how he always brought people home for dinner unannounced and enjoyed throwing an impromptu party. We couldn’t help but think; Dad would have loved this. He should have been here. There have been so many times over the past five years when our thoughts turned to Buddy: when Dillon became a father; Kacey achieved high honors; Connor was named an all scholastic and a captain of the hockey team, Danny took his team to regionals and states, Madeline discovered she had a talent for soccer and when Eliza Josephine (EJB) and Isabella were born. We have come to understand that this will be a common theme at every holiday, birth, graduation and wedding. As we said our goodbyes to the Ellisons; Razz and Chuck said, “See you at “the Buddy”. We realized then, that we had achieved all of what we had hoped. We had created an event that suited our Dad and lived up to his memory. Buddy would have loved it. We expect this event will evolve into something different than it is today, but it will be special no matter what, because Buddy was special. Thank you for joining in this celebration of Buddy’s life and for remembering our friend, husband and father. See you next year at “the Buddy.” Bring your friends. It is sure to be a good time. With love and gratitude, The Brabants Family RAFFLE TICKETS 10 for $10 Or 25 for $20 Chinese Auction Place any number of tickets in the box displayed with the item you hope to win!
