Since our first sewing machine the NORTHERN STAR™ - saw the light of day, the HUSQVARNA VIKING ® brand has been at the forefront of sewing innovations that delight sewers. As we celebrate our 140 th anniversary, we present a specially designed Limited Edition model appropriately called our Tribute™ sewing machine. Convenient accessibility • Easy to choose any of the 145 stunning stitches by touching the stitch picture or the number or scroll through menus and stitches with the Navigator Arrows. • Perfectly Balanced Buttonholes- Sews both sides of the buttonhole in the same direction for even, balanced buttonholes. 1872 – The rifle producing company Husqvarna® produced its first sewing machine, NORDSTJERNAN™ (The Northern Star™). 1960 – The biggest innovation yet: the Husqvarna® 2000 model. A whole new level of convenience with color coded settings and automatic feed for elastic stitches. 1883 – The FREJA™ sewing machine model was introduced, innovating with the perfect straight stitch. Versions of this model sold for almost 40 years. 1972 – A pioneering development led to the Husqvarna® Centennial™ series, the first lubrication-free sewing machine. 1903 – Introduction of the oscillating bobbin - CB sewing machine, “the sewing machine for families and craftsmen” - became a global leader for more than 50 years. 1979 – Model 6680, “the computer sewing machine”, became a reality. The following year, the world’s first “writing” sewing machine was launched - the model 6690, was able to sew letters. 1934 – A sign of the times, functionality became the focus, contrasting the earlier ornate styles. The first Husqvarna ® electric sewing machine was presented, the CBN Class 12. 1989 – The Husqvarna® 1100 sewing machine offered sewers unlimited creativity with convenient, exclusive features, such as One Touch Direct Stitch Selection™ feature, Sewing Advisor™ feature, Infodisplay™ feature and Programdisplay ™ feature. 1947 – The first free-arm sewing machine was introduced: the Husqvarna® Zig-Zag™ sewing machine. A free arm offered convenient access. The zig-zag stitch created capability for many new sewing possibilities. 1953 – The Class 20 sewing machine was introduced.
