He was an early starter who became an instant sensation. The engine that started when he was 14 just keeps on revving. Armaan is a go-getter and when he brings that attitude to the tracks, it is pure magic. His racing history is an affirmation of his capability. At 14, he won both National Karting and National Racing Championships, and two years later became the youngest driver in the world to sit behind the wheel of an A1 GP car. It is not every day that a new icon rises to take the world by storm. The dashing Armaan has a quality about him that shouts out how rare a phenomenon he is. His domination over Indian single-seater racing is The gears shifted… unchallenged; now, he has gone on to drive and win some of the most prestigious championships in the world. As a sports-loving nation, we are fortunate to witness this young motorsports champion’s meteoric rise. Armaan Ebrahim is currently racing in the BLANCPAIN GT World Series. Success came to Armaan very early, but it didn’t come easy. Everything he had achieved was a result of his persistence and hard-working nature. He conquered championships and kept on moving to the next level, always upgrading his skills and evolving to adapt to the higher standards demanded by the bigger leagues. As the speed picked up… National Champion at 14; world’s youngest driver in A1 GP at 16; the accolades kept accumulating. But not one to rest on his laurels, Armaan hungered for more. He became the youngest driver ever to participate in the GP2 Asia Championship, where he finished in the top 10. In 2011, Armaan became the first Asian to make the podium in F2 Championship at Circuit-de-Valencia. The F2 website voted Armaan the "Driver with the Best Race Form". His average shows he overtook 8 cars per race. Armaan started with Karting then moved on to a successful stint in Formula LGB. Then came Formula BMW Asia; still, the ascent had just begun… He won the glory of representing Team India at the A1 Grand Prix Championship, made a claim to the British Formula Renault Championship, and drove in Formula V6 Asia where he bagged five race wins. He crossed the chequered flag and kept on driving! Armaan has taken the racing world by storm and over the past few years has garnered tremendous recognition and respect in both Indian and international racing circles. He has captured the imagination of a billion people with his exploits on the track and his charm off it. ARMAAN’S TRAINING AND FITNESS Armaan made a clear choice when he was a child; he was going to become a racer and he was going to be good at it. Choosing a sport in which every second is a battle for survival, he is well aware of the challenges ahead. He has to think on his feet and to do that he needs to be in top physical and psychological form. And he’s ready for it. Armaan has an intense fitness regime. His basic routine includes stretching, core exercises, cardio and weight training. Combined with his fitness training is his nutrition programme, to keep his body in perfect balance and build endurance. He is committed to his fitness programme that is exclusively designed for him and never misses a day. His desire to succeed is far bigger than the hardships he has to endure. Paying it forward… He likes to inspire young minds. What Armaan has gained from being a motor racer is priceless. Having met racing greats, even competing against some, he was given small but valuable advice which has helped him become a better racer. He likes to do the same for young racers who are just entering the racing arena and look up to him. He knows from experience how inspiring that can be. Armaan’s advice for young racers: “The first thing about motorsports in to be realistic and honest with yourself. When he started his career racing for Team Meco, people immediately took note of his exceptional driving skills at just age 14. He kept improving race after race and his reputation to secure wins became a talking point in the racing community. Armaan grew to be one of the top selection choices for racing teams. Some of the teams for whom Armaan has raced include: Team India, MotorSport Vision, Fan Force United, etc. Van Amersfoort Racing CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS Accolades 2013: Raced in the FIA GT1 World Championship - 2 podium finishes for team India. 2012: Raced part-season in the Indy Lites Series. Raced at the Indy 500. 2009 to 2012: Raced in the Formula 2 and became the 1st Indian to take podium in the FIA Formula 2 World Championship. 2008: Raced in the GP2 Asia Championship and had 3 top 10 finishes. 2007: Finished 2nd in the Formula Renault V6 Championship with 5 Wins and 7 Podiums. 2006: Selected to race for Team India in the A1 GP World Championship. At 16, became the youngest driver in the world to drive a 550 BHP race car and was awarded an international ‘A’ racing licence. With 26 racers in the fray, he finished between 11th and 13th in all 6 races. 2005: Won the BMW Motorsport Scholarship Award. Topped the table in the Asia Pacific region, during the selection process. At 15, became the youngest driver in the world to win a Formula BMW when he won at Sepang, Malaysia. Took multiple podium finishes in Japan, Indonesia and Thailand. 2004: Won the Indian National Rotax Max Karting Championship. Won the Indian National Racing Championship in Formula 13000 at the age of 14. 2003: Won the Asian Rotax Max Karting Championship in Malaysia and Philippines at the age of 13. Represented India in the World Karting finals for Junior Class and finished in the top 10, at Egypt.
