OLI SYSTEM
OLI SYSTEM In 1995 Chi Wing Lo thought of designing a piece of furniture which would allow ‘the domestic environment to be cleansed of all those frivolous objects which normally disturb one’s vision’. OLI was born; a modular system, multi-functional, extremely rational, elegant and, above all, with an infinity of constructive potentialities. Its name recalls the concept that its function expresses; from the Greek word ‘olos’, therefore, everything, united, together, here is how the parts harmonise in all that literally stands to indicate the possibility of being able to assemble a living space for pleasure; dividing screen, display cabinet, library, low furniture container, wardrobe, small cabinet, these are just some of the possible solutions.‘Wood is my first choice because it is a living material that welcomes the beauty of imperfection’. The choice of essence for Chi Wing Lo falls undoubtedly on maple wood, whose natural colour and veining expresses the simplicity and pureness required by the design to a maximum. 3D Oli System ©giorgetti spa 2007 | 1/9 >>> Innovation: Oli electronic system The technical innovation combination for Oli is, without doubt, the possibility to have an electronic locking system on the drawers. This is the first series device used in furnishing which is able to handle the automatic opening of a chest of drawers. It allows the locking of two, three, or four drawers protected by access codes that are inserted by the customer during the delivery stage of the product from the factory. The device entails two hardware jumpers being inserted into the positions foreseen on the electronic card. This walk-in dressing room was much appreciated at the time of its presentation and is continuously updated through improvements to the details of every accessory. ©giorgetti spa 2007 | 2/9 >>> PERSONAL EXHIBITION BY MASSIMO SCOLARI AT RIVA DEL GARDA Massimo Scolari 9th September – 4th November 2007 by Giovanni Marzari Skira catalogue Inauguration Sunday 9th September 11.00 a.m. The exhibition proposes drawings, watercolour paintings and models by Massimo Scolari. By using wood as its main material, the most natural material of all, especially for its never failing beauty, resistance and flexibility, Giorgetti reinforces its true vocation for innovation by perfecting the manufacturing techniques to reduce wood leftovers to a minimum and then to transform them, or use them to make new furniture, choosing suppliers who are sensitive to the need to safeguard our environment. Be it European or exotic, the wood we use comes from controlled, cultivated forests where trees are replaced immediately after being cut, in countries where severe norms prevail to protect the patrimony of woods and forests. Lastly, the use of paints, water dyes and the choice of low energy consumption light bulbs all make a consistent contribution to the aim to create a high quality product. The sharpness of its jagged coastline and its steep cliffs make access difficult for the mass media. The beauty of the sights of this island made it the protagonist in the film ‘The Adventure’ by Michelangelo Antonioni made in 1959. Info http://www.panarea.com > Hotel Raya http://www.hotelraya.it/ San Domino alle Tremiti Covered in woods of Aleppo Pine, San Domino was called the Garden of Paradise by the Benedictine monks because of its fertility and the spontaneity of its so many coloured flowers. Besides being a protected marine sanctuary, it is also a place where the waters are so clear as to evoke those of the tropics. La Maddalena A strong wind blows off the shores of this archipelago with its crystalline water…maybe the one that will bring the next America’s Cup. What better way to enjoy every corner of this archipelago to the north of the Sardinian coast than in a sailing boat.
