Box 306 Wahpeton, North Dakota 58074-0306 218-643-3292 Catalog #46 Prices subject to change. 2011-2012 www.GrawesLures.com email: amgrawe@graweslures.com PRAIRIE FIRE (For All Canines) This canine bait made from natural ingredients creates a rough-mild mouth watering odor which causes all canines to really investigate at a flat set or readily try to dig it from a dirt hole set right to the bottom. They will keep digging and chewing and working “Prairie Fire” 3 or 4 months after you’ve gone. This rough but mild bait gets the same result year round in early fall to late season. It has proven itself to do unbelievably well on coyote getters as well as with traps. Fish and wildlife trappers tell us “it just never quits!” Start the “Prairie Fire” on your line and smoke a pile of coyotes! 1/2 Pint — $12.00 1/2 Gallon — $50.00 97 Coyote and 12 Fox Mr. Grawe, in the past I hauled 55 gallon barrels of guts to bait my snare locations in brush patches, etc. This season I used a 3 in. auger with 24 in. shaft for depth. I pre-baited 50 locations with two tablespoons of Prairie Fire down the hole. All 50 bait stations were dug out to the depth of the hole. We had above normal snow and high wind allowing only 30 days of snaring. The catch was above normal for the amount of time spent in the field. I highly recommend Prairie Fire and will always recommend your bullet locks with Quick Kill snare springs. — Monte Hininger “MUSTANG SALLY” FAT CAT “Mustang Sally” won’t spook those paranoid coyotes who have gotten used to the common foul smelling commercial baits or the “perfume” types. Unlike many of today’s rank nasty baits which cause a rolling or urination response, “Mustang Sally” grabs a coyote’s attention and triggers a natural desire to actually investigate the bait. Coyotes really focus on the bait and will dig a dirt hole to try to remove and eat this bait, because they really like to eat this bait. 1/2 Pint Jar — $12.00 1/2 gal.— $50.00 Serious cat trappers have made Fat Cat the fastest growing cat bait in the country. This bait will trigger the lick/eat instinct, overcoming the finicky nature of those high-dollar cats. This bait naturally provokes the urge to eat, and not only scores on cats, but has proven itself on coyote, fox and coon. Veteran trappers report that it works very well, and functions in all seasons, dry land or water sets. Many western cat men have perfected the use of cages for cats, and Fat Cat is just the ticket for that use. Rarely is there an attractant that is this versatile and this effective. Works all year, but is best after the first frost. 1/2 Pint Jar — $12.00 1/2 Gallon — $50.00 Sweet Skunk “COWBOY” Canine Bait The more experienced coyote men know the value of a milder food bait. ADC men have found “COWBOY” an especially good bait when used with traps and a top notched Gun Bait for use in control work. Put up in an easy to use Heavy Grease base and made entirely with natural ingredients. “COWBOY” sparks a coyotes curiosity. Use 1 teaspoon at a set and 2-3 tsp. in late season. 1/2 Pint — $12.00 1/2 Gallon — $50.00 All canine will readily investigate a buried skunk or carcass, dig it up, drag it around, and if hungry enough, eat it. “Sweet Skunk” is not a harsh odor as pure skunk essence is. It can be used in a wide variety of applications and in numberous types of sets. Try a small, strip of hide or fur, partially buried and slightly exposed, smeared with a teaspoon of “Sweet Skunk”. It is sure an attraction for all canines. It may also be used by itself at a dirt hole or on flat sets or you can make a Killer Trash Pile Set for Bobcat using bits of ground duff, bleached bone and a few odd feathers with a teaspoon of “Sweet Skunk” and a touch of “Cat Puddy”. It’s also great or compounding your own lures and will improve any lure or bait. This bait has a "sweet" base, yet has a penetrating odor that won't wash out in rainy weather. This bait comes in handy quarter pint jars. $8.00 "RATTY RATTY" MUSKRAT LURE – We all know that rats patrol their territory and are quick to investigate any new and unusual odor. Believe me, this rat lure I make will definitely attract a greater number of rats to your sets than the common apple, cherry or wintergreen. Many trappers tell us that this is an excellent coon lure. Good all season. 1 oz. ONLY $5.00; 4 oz. $16.00 "CHAIN SAW" BEAVER #1 – This very fine lure is made with a base of only the finest dark, aged castor, then blended together with three very important essential ingredients. Many times while setting up a beaver trap I have had beaver swim close by, blowing and hissing at me to leave the area. A friend of mine watched a large male beaver charge up to a set with 330 on dry ground and get caught. A heavy "pasty" lure that won't wash or freeze out. I'm sure you'll agree that it will really help put a lot of beaver on the boards. 1 oz. ONLY $5.00; 4 oz. $16.00 "RIVER HORSE" BEAVER #2 – Here's a lure that is my personal favorite, because it really works on those old trap-shy beaver. This lure contains an ingredient most lure makers have never had the pleasure of working with. This lure is very versatile as I have knocked off a lot of mink, coon and coyote with it. Once you try this lure, you'll find it's worth every cent you paid, as it will bring you a great deal of satisfaction. 1 oz. ONLY $5.00; 4 oz. $16.00 Grawes Lures 2011-2012 1 K-7 A GREAT NEW LURE – K-7 is a totally new concept in lures that we have worked with for more than 15 years, before the discovery of a blending miracle. Coyotes, fox, cats and coon simply CANNOT leave this lure alone, and we have perfected this pastetype lure until it does not dry out, fade or freeze out. This lure is compelling every day of the year and we believe that K-7 will be the most used lure in the nation as trappers find out just how attractive it is to everything with fur and a nose. This is your chance to try something new and very effective, and you are going to wonder how you got along without it. ONLY $5.00 per oz.; 4 oz. $16.00 This bad boy was caught by LaRae Roseen. While she only has time to take care of 12 sets a day, it’s not unusual for her to call a couple of times a year all excited and out of breath to tell us she has caught three or four in one day. That’s when she pulls out that pistol and starts blazing away. “FAT CAT” FAT CAT – Coyote trappers tell us that we should have used a different name for this bait. The unusual odor is just the ticket for piling up good numbers of coyote. “Fat Cat” was put together for the serious cat trappers. The often times finicky cats are easily taken in foot hold sets using this bait, and many are reporting very good success using it in cage traps also. “Fat Cat” works year around for Fox and Coon on dry land or water. What makes “Fat Cat” so great is the very unusual mouthwatering odor that makes All Predators want to eat this terrific bait. $12.00 for a 1/2 pint jar Chris and Jon Wheeler told us the season previous they had only caught six cats. Then they ordered some “Fat Cat” bait and ended up with 36 cats last season. Jon says, “From now on we only use “Fat Cat”. "CAT PUDDY" BOBCAT #1 – Very few men know how to handle cat gland properly to give it body. Like all my gland lures, this lure is thick, powerful and aged to just the right degree to let it give off the nice "puggy" cat odor of the cat family. A rich, pasty lure that keeps the cat's attention on your set. 1 oz. $5.00; 4 oz. $16.00 "SNOW CAT" BOBCAT #2 – One of the greatest blends of curiosity-type lures ever created for the cat family. A "potent" call-type lure that really pulls cats off their line of travel, and entices them to hang around and work your set. Very popular with the Nevada, Utah and Wyoming cat trappers who special order this by the pint. 1 oz. $5.00; 4 oz. $16.00 Nice cat snared by Schultz. 2 GRAWE'S SNARE PASTE – This lure is put up in paste form for ease of application off the ground where it does the most good. When this lure is applied to brush or weeds a couple of feet high, it causes the predators to pace back and forth in the trails to locate the odor, and that greatly increases the chance that snares will be ignored or go unnoticed until it is too late. 1 oz. ONLY $5.00; 4 oz. $16.00 Grawes Lures 2011-2012 "Musky" 1 Mink #1 – Nothing tops off a set like a good mink gland lure. While this lure is attractive to a mink, it is especially deadly on long-ranging, bankrunning, big old male mink. A large buck mink is always on the lookout for an intruder on his Grawe, here is a photo of 831 mink taken in 6 weeks by rounds and is sure my son and I. Your boards are just great! Thanks for to stop and investi- your wonderful products. - Tim Sawatzky, Minnesota gate a set if he figures another mink has moved in on his route. This is especially valuable at dry sets. 1 oz. ONLY $5.00; 4 oz. $16.00 "Mink Pack" Mink #2 – This is our top selling mink lure as it has an unequaled value in pocket sets and open water sets. It contains a curiosity scent that is unbelievably attractive to mink. It is a heavy, pasty lure that is carefully blended with aromatic musk and won't wash away. Compare it with any lure on the market for stopping power. 1 oz. ONLY $5.00; 4 oz. $16.00 BAM! BAM! Liquid Mink Bait – Fellows, no need to make excuses for your low mink catch. BAM! This canine bait made from 3 natural ingredients creates a Rough-Mild mouth watering odor which causes All Canine to really investigate at a Flat Set or readily try to dig it from a Dirt Hole Set right to the bottom. They will keep digging and chewing and working “Prairie Fire” 3 or 4 months after you’re gone. This rough but mild bait gets the same result year round in hot or cold weather. It has proven itself to do unbelievably well on coyote getters as well as with traps. Fish and wildlife trappers tell us “It just never quits working.” Start the “Prairie Fire” on your line and smoke a pile of coyotes. $12.00 1/2 pint; $50.00 1/2 gallon We accept VISA and MasterCard NOTICE – EXTRA SAVINGS All 1 oz. Buffed with heat urine that will really "fox" any set, it helps to eliminate that nervous shyness in both reds and grays. A very fine lure for baited dirt holes, post sets and flat sets. It puts out that natural foxy odor any time of the year, regardless of trapline terrain or conditions. Most trappers aren't aware that they have never tried a REAL gland lure, much less a GREAT one. 1 oz. Bottle ONLY $5.00 4 oz. Jar $16.00 "RASCAL" FOX #2 – Here is a lure that certainly has no equal. It's a good heavy- Randy Stoeberl says he really enjoys catching red fox. He uses K-7, Fox #1 and Grey Ghost. based lure loaded with real fox calling odors. Most of the top fox men in the country buy this lure in pints to insure a season's supply. It doesn't matter what time of the year you use it, as it has the continuous ability to arouse the curiosity in a fox and cause him to work your set whether he is hungry or not. It has a deadly attraction to all the canines and no doubt is the most versatile fox lure on the market. 1 oz. ONLY $5.00; 4 oz. A good many trappers tell us that they add a couple ounces of this late winter bait to their own baits and find it really gives a "lift." 1/4 Pint Bottle $8.00 "WINTER LOAD" FOX #4 – A most effective and powerful long-range winter lure, it is made especially for use after freezeup. It contains an "oily" skunk essence and can be used right at the set or on a weed or post three feet above ground. It can also be used as a call lure 10 to 15 feet from the set. It's a long-lasting lure and a favorite with the late winter longline trapper. 1 oz. ONLY $5.00; 4 oz. Jar $16.00 My #1 lure on these eastern coyote is K-7. Your Fat Cat is great for cats and coon. It works on an otters’ natural curiosity and also gives that otter territorial invasion effect. Used up off the ground, this paste has just the right combination of ingredients to put out the attractant in all conditions, and to keep the predators focused until it’s too late. 4 oz. In actual testing in Arkansas, the push-pull trigger reduced bait theft by a 12-to1 margin over conventional pull-only type traps! — Diamond shape opening allows for better grip by applying pressure to all four sides of the paw instead ot two like most others. — A unique triggering system which allows a push or pull operation. — A pre-set safety position so one can bait at home and is less likely to fire as others. — Can be switched to a pull-only in seconds. — Large stabilizer for better support. 6 Each $184.00 $144.00 $159.00 $156.00 $169.00 $111.00 $122.00 $123.00 $136.00 $154.00 $153.00 $95.00 $104.00 $85.00 $88.00 $186.00 Introducing the long awaited Duke DP “Dog Proof” Raccoon Trap! In error, most training scents are a mixture of rendered fats, stale urine, and a mixture of dung and mineral oils which are practically useless as a dog training scent, because of harsh acids and bacteria created by such mixtures. During the last 59 years of handling and raising most every known fur-bearing and big game animal in America, we have discovered that all animals have nine different sets of glands, which are used in marking territories, communication, for identity, mating, and at times, as warnings. Three of these sets of glands we have found to be responsible in creating and leaving what we call “Body Odors.” These odors are, in fact, tiny scent molecules floating in the air and leaving behind the animal’s true scent trail. It’s left on the ground, on grasses, on rocks, on timber and on all terrain that the animal travels over. These are the scents that our dogs are trailing. One of the most important factors in creating good natural scent odors is the correct handling and cutting of glands. Another is the use of modern fixatives and preservatives to hold that true, fresh, natural animal odor. One customer wrote stating, “Your scents smell so real, all they need is hair on them.” Scott Cargill, Mt.
