This canine bait made from natural ingredients
creates a rough-mild mouth watering odor which causes all canines to really investigate at a flat set or readily try
to dig it from a dirt hole set right to the bottom. They will
keep digging and chewing and working “Prairie Fire” 3 or 4
months after you’ve gone. This rough but mild bait gets the
same result year round in early fall to late season. It has
proven itself to do unbelievably well on coyote getters as

Mr. Grawe, in the past I hauled 55 gallon barrels of guts to bait my snare
locations in brush patches, etc. This season I used a 3 in. auger with 24
in. shaft for depth. I pre-baited 50 locations with two tablespoons of
Prairie Fire down the hole. All 50 bait stations were dug out to the depth
of the hole. We had above normal snow and high wind allowing only 30
days of snaring. The catch was above normal for the amount of time
spent in the field. I highly recommend Prairie Fire and will always recommend your bullet locks with Quick Kill snare springs. — Monte Hininger

This bad boy was caught by LaRae Roseen. While she

“FAT CAT”
FAT CAT – Coyote trappers tell us that we should have used a different
name for this bait. The unusual odor is just the ticket for piling up good
numbers of coyote.
“Fat Cat” was put together for the serious cat trappers. The often times
finicky cats are easily taken in foot hold sets using this bait, and many are
reporting very good success using it in cage traps also. “Fat Cat” works

When early winter sets in Furs are at their Peak in primeness. Unlike traps, snares work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I call them Silent Sentrys as they will work in
rain, cold, or snowy conditions. I designed, invented, and patented our Fig. 7 Support Snare in July of 1982 and have used and worked with snares for over 35 years.
Our Bullet Lock is small in size which makes for Less Visibility and Wind Resistance. It is made with smooth round edges out of Heat Treated “Hard Steel”. It is a “NonForgiving” Lock that won’t back up or saw through and can be reused. and a double support wire which allows the unit to be used with metal or
wood stakes, or existing small brush. In fact, it can be attached to mostly

Our scents have been in use during the past 41 years by U.S. Fish and Wildlife agencies, state Game and
Fish Departments, professional dog handlers, hound clubs, World Champion Bear and Coon Field Trials and
individuals in every state in America and nine foreign countries.
In error, most training scents are a mixture of rendered fats, stale urine, and a mixture of dung and mineral oils which are practically useless as a dog training scent, because of harsh acids and bacteria created by
such mixtures.
During the last 59 years of handling and raising most every known fur-bearing and big game animal in
America, we have discovered that all animals have nine different sets of glands, which are used in marking
territories, communication, for identity, mating, and at times, as warnings.
Three of these sets of glands we have found to be responsible in creating and leaving what we call “Body
Odors.” These odors are, in fact, tiny scent molecules floating in the air and leaving behind the animal’s true
scent trail. It’s left on the ground, on grasses, on rocks, on timber and on all terrain that the animal travels
over. These are the scents that our dogs are trailing. One of the most important factors in creating good natural scent odors is the correct handling and cutting of glands. Another is the use of modern fixatives and
preservatives to hold that true, fresh, natural animal odor.
