From the nurse’s office Please be aware that the health office does not stock allergy medication or cold/cough medication. This includes cough drops. Many students are coming to the health office asking for these medications. If your child needs allergy or cold/cough medication, please give the medication before school. Also, per TUSD policy you can leave overthe-counter medication in the health office for your student with a signed medication permit and a doctor’s note. Prescription medication does not need a doctor’s note, but must be provided in a container with a current pharmacy label. Students are allowed to carry cough drops. Any other medication, other than emergency medications allowed by law (epinephrine, diabetes medication, and inhalers) must be kept in the health office. The health office stocks acetaminophen, ibuprofen and liquid antacid, which is administered if a parent/guardian has given permission on the emergency card.
