Talk Media Conference To Offer
“Discourse In The Desert”
A lineup of the nation’s top Talk media programming and
management executives, personalities,
and industry professionals will gather
in Phoenix February 20-22, 2008
for Al Peterson’s inaugural NTS
Aircheck Talk Media Conference.
The new annual event will be held
at the exclusive Scottsdale Plaza
Resort and will feature a fresh
cross-section of speakers to enrich,
entertain and inform attendees. We’ll
also have format-focused discussions
covering key issues facing News/Talk/Sports radio broadcasters,
webcasters, networks, syndicators, streaming media, bloggers,
podcasters and content providers. We’re proud to announce the
support of several Charter sponsors including Arbitron, Jones
Radio Networks, Premiere Radio Networks and Talk Radio
Network.

media – and that incorporates a wide range of delivery platforms
including radio, satellite, the Internet, podcasting and more.
To succeed as a programmer, manager, host or other Talk
industry executive today, you need more than the same old panel
discussions. You want to hear from innovators and leaders, both

within the format and from outside the broadcast industry, to
give you perspective, new knowledge and a better understanding of the media world in which we now live.
We realize budgets today are scrutinized more than ever,
and that you need to make a strong case for any dollars you
want to spend, especially on travel. In the weeks ahead, I’ll be
making a strong case to you on these pages and in our daily NTS
Aircheck Today email that TMC 2008 will be well worth your
time and money.
Over the past several weeks we’ve been canvassing News/
Talk/Sports media executives from across the country to get
their input on what kind of structure you need to meet your goals
and expectations. Our schedule – Wednesday afternoon through
noon on Friday – has been designed to meet your overwhelming
request for a conference that runs during the normal workweek
while also minimizing your days out of the office. Our Phoenix
location offers great low-cost airfare options and many non-stop
flights from virtually any city in the U.S. And let’s not forget
the Valley of the Sun’s famous February weather that’s sure to
offer a much-needed break from winter’s chilly blast for many
attendees.
Add to that a program of format-focused speakers and
sessions, our low registration fee of just $299 (good through
September 30), and our special low conference room rates, and
we think you’ll agree that the new Talk Media Conference will
be the one you’ll want to choose to budget for in 2008. It’s an
event I’m proud to put my name on.
Watch for announcements in the weeks ahead about special
guests, events and prominent executives who will be part of
News/Talk/Sports’ new “must attend” gathering. For more
details and to register now, just log on to our special TMC
website at www.TalkMediaConference.com.
While we’re already well into our planning to ensure that
you get a great event, I’m always anxious to hear your feedback
and ideas on how to make our very first Talk Media Conference
the new standard for the News/Talk/Sports industry. Got recommendations or suggestions? Email me at al@ntsaircheck.com.
