WHEN? August 28 - September 02, 2016 WHERE? Northern and North-central Poland (Kaszuby, Kujawy and Dobrzyń area regions) TITLE? Quaternary geology of north-central Poland: from the Kashubian Coast to the LGM limit Tuesday-Thursday - Hotel Kliper in Chłapowo: oral and poster presentations and field excursions Monday – beginning of the meeting in Gdynia in the Institute of Oceanography, University of Gdańsk Preliminary programme: Day 1, August 28 (Sunday): Arrival in the Gdańsk City and registration at University of Gdańsk in Gdynia Campus (Institute of Oceanography). Introductory lectures. Departure for Władysławowo, Hotel Kliper. Day 2, August 29 (Monday): Paper & Poster session. Władysławowo, Hotel Kliper. Preliminary programme: Day 3, August 30 (Tuesday): Field trip – sedimentary features and depositional environments of Pleistocene fluvial successions exposed in cliffs of northern part of the Kashubian Coast, formation and evolution of the Hel Spit. Hel Spit – southern Baltic Sea coast Chłapowo Cliff– southern Baltic Sea coast Preliminary programme: Day 4, August 31(Wednesday): Field trip – glacial and glaciolacustrine series and glaciotectonics of the Oksywie Plateau, interglacial fluvial series and sedimentary record of deltaic sedimentation in the Puck Plateau. Oksywie Cliff– southern Baltic Sea coast Mrzezino site – northern Poland Thursday – aeolian dune field Thursday – the Wapienno quarry Thursday – Golub castle Preliminary programme: Day 5 – September 1 (Thursday): Field trip – sedimentary record of Pleistocene glaciations exposed at the large scale quarry “Wapienno”, the Late Weichselian aeolian series within the Toruń Basin, arrival in the Castle Hotel at GolubDobrzyń. Wapienno Quarry Pleistocene series in the Wapienno Quarry Preliminary programme: The Castle in Golub-Dobrzyń. Preliminary programme: Day 6 – September 2 (Saturday): Field trip – enigmatic subglacial landsystem of glacial-curvilineations and ice marginal formation, subglacial tills associated with the Vistula Ice Stream of the Scandinavian Ice Sheet. Departure to Gdańsk (at afternoon).
