collaborated to provide international students a threeweek camp offered at their campuses in Sarnia, Canada
and Mt. Pleasant, USA respectively.

The ESL Program
21 hours of ESL per week with qualified instructors. Classes are interactive and focus on building communication skills. Students are given an online placement
test before arrival. Students will improve their listening, reading, writing, speaking and grammar. The lessons are interactive, allowing students to utilize their
skills with their teachers and classmates. Activities include debates, discussions, presentations, projects, journal writing and video making. All classrooms are
equipped with multimedia and use the latest technology. This ESL camp is a great way to improve speaking and listening skills.

Sarnia
Lambton College is located in the city of Sarnia on the southern shore of Lake Huron.
With a population of 73,000, Sarnia is also known as Bluewater country. It has over
100 parks, beautiful waterfronts, pristine beaches and a 24-kilometre all-purpose
trail. There are many shopping centres, large franchise restaurants and fine dining
establishments located within the city. Lambton College is a public, non-profit college
that has been servicing Canadian and international students for over 47 years. The
ESL program is operated within the College through the Lambton Institute of English.

Located in central Michigan with a population
of 25,000, it’s a safe, relaxing environment that
offers a small-town feel with all the activities
and attractions of a city twice its size. From
dining and golf, to canoeing to skydiving, you'll
find something exciting to do. Enjoy Mount
Pleasant's 15 area parks and discover all that
the Chippewa River has to offer. Established in
1892, Central Michigan University is among
the nation’s 80 largest public universities
with more than 20,000 students. The English
Language Institute conducts the English
program at CMU.

On-campus residence with 24 hour security
and only a five-minute walk to campus.

Single bed, double-occupancy, mini-fridge,
private bathroom, microwave, telephone, desk, air
conditioning, chair and lamp. Students will share a
room with another international student. Residence
common area includes lounge areas, cable TV in
the lounge area, games room, courtyard, laundry
facilities, kitchenette, and vending machines.

Activities
Students will have plenty of opportunity to practise their English skills in and out of class. Camp
counsellors organize fun after-school activities on campus or in residence, such as movie or game night,
talent show, sporting games and quiz show.

Excursions
There is one out-of –town trip each week. Students have the chance to see one of the world’s natural
wonders in Niagara Falls, visit Canada’s Wonderland, a premiere amusement park located in Toronto,
and explore America’s past and present at the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan. Students will take
buses with school staff and volunteers on these daily trips.

For every 10 students a school sends, one teacher or parent will be hosted for the duration of
the camp. This includes airport transfers, accommodation, meals, excursions and admission fees.
Airfare, health insurance, visas and pocket money are not included. Teachers can observe and join
in the classroom instruction - a great opportunity for professional development!
