PROGRESS BOOK
PARENT ACCESS NAVIGATION
Enter the following web address into your internet browser.
https://parent.laca.org
From the resulting screen, you can click on your child’s school district icon.
Once you click on the icon you will be taken to a screen where you will enter your
district provided login information. If there are any problems with your login please
contact your child’s building office.
Once logged in you will be able to click on various links and tabs. Your district
administration has selected certain items for parent viewing. If any area is empty from
the homepage, these sections have been turned off.
There are 5 links on the student tab: Averages, Progress Details, Report
Card, Attendance, and Schedule.
The picture below displays the “Averages” screen. It shows the current average in each
of your child’s classes and the date the average was last calculated. You can click on the
course name to display assignment information.
Below is the “Progress Details” screen. This screen displays the current average for the
course and also the scores that your child has received on any assignments that the
teacher has posted. You will also see any comments that the teacher has posted. You can
switch classes by using the drop down list at the top of the screen. There are 3 options at
the bottom of this screen: View by Assignment Type, Print Report, and View Grading
Scale.
Clicking on View by Assignment Type will give you the following screen. The
assignment type is above each box. To go back to the previous screen, click View by
Date.
Clicking on Print Report will give you the following printable report.
Clicking on Grading Scale will give you the scale used at your student’s school. Click
Close to go back to Progress Details.
This is a picture of the “Attendance” screen. This is your child’s daily attendance
history. Under the Student tab click on Attendance.
This is a picture of the “Schedule” screen. It shows what teachers your child has during
the day and will also display their email addresses if they have posted them.
There are 3 links under the classroom tab: Homework, Monthly
Planner, and Information.
The first is the “Homework” page. The date automatically defaults to today’s date. You
can change the date to view previous assignments.
The “Monthly Planner” page has different color icons for each course. There will be a
book icon for each class there is a homework assignment. Clicking on the icon will take
you to the assignment. Use the back arrow to view previous months.
Also on the Classroom tab you can click on the Information link. The resulting screen
displays messages and/or websites the teacher has posted that are relevant to the course.
Again, you can change courses by using the course dropdown box.
Under the School tab there are 3 links: News & Information, Event List,
and Event Calendar.
The News & Information screen is a place for the school to put out news and articles
related to the school.
NEWS & INFORMATION:
The Event List and Calendar include the same information. They both list upcoming
events such as sporting events, concerts, exams, etc.

There are 5 links under the “My Account” tab: Edit My Profile, Change
My Login, Change My Password, Link My Accounts, and Manage
Accounts.
Clicking on Edit My Profile allows you to enter a first and last name and email address.
The email address is recommended. If you forget your user name and/or password there
are links you can click on the login screen and your information will be emailed to you.
You can change your Login Name by clicking on Change My Login. You will be asked
to give your current Login Name, your Password, and your New Login Name.
You are able to change your password by clicking on Change My Password. You will be
required to enter your old password, and your new one.
Also on this tab you can click on the Link my accounts link. If you have multiple
children in the district you will be able to link them together so that you only have to
enter one password for all of your children instead of one per child. You will need to
know the login information for each of your children to use this linking feature.
The Manage Account link will give you the names of students that are linked to your
account.
