OVERVIEW
Weekend Overview: One of the oldest cyclo-cross race weekends in the Midwest, the 2015
Cincinnati International Cyclo-Cross Festival encompasses three days of events: a pre-ride and
social gatherings on Friday, a C1 event at Kings on Saturday, and the Pan American Cyclocross
Championships at Devou Park on Sunday. This booklet provides the event technical guidelines,
information,andregulationsforpromoters,officials,teampersonnel,andathletes.

Penalties:UCICategories:TheUCIregulationsandpenaltyscaleistheonlyoneapplicable.USAC
rules,regulations,andpenaltiesapplytotheothercategories.
Registration:Racepre-registrationforallcategoriesisavailablebeginningJuly22stat12am.Elite
MenandEliteWomenarepre-registrationonly.Dayofregistrationwillbeavailable(withthe
exceptionofUCIElitemenandwomen)forriderson-siteforanadditional$10(withtheexception
ofjuniorcategories).Ridersmustregisterforcategoryontheirracinglicense.Noupgradeswillbe
availableon-site.
RacingLicense:AcurrentUCIInternationalLicenseisrequiredtoracetheUCIraces:EliteMen,
Women,U23,andMenJunior.AUSCFlicenseisrequiredforallcategorieswiththeexceptionof
freekidsraces.Temporaryone-daylicensesareavailableforpurchaseon-siteateventsforallCat4
categoriesonly.ForCat1/2/3anannuallicenseisrequired(alsoavailabletopurchaseon
site).Registrationstaffwillbecheckinglicensesatnumberpickup-licensemustbepresentedto
race.
RacingAge:Arider'sracingageforallcyclo-crosscategoriesistheiryearofbirthsubtractedfrom
2016.
WaitingLists:Waitinglistswillbecreatedwhenaparticularracingwavehaslessthan10spots
available.Waitinglistwillremaincloseduntilfieldlimitreached,thenwillbemade
available.Waitinglistswillbepre-registrationonly.Spotswillbemadeavailablewhenregistration
closes30minpriortothestartofthewave.Anyridersnotsignedinbythenwilllosetheirspot,
anditwillbemadeavailabletothosethatsignedupfirstonthewaitinglist.Ridersonwaitlist
shouldbeatregistrationtable35minbeforeevent,readytoracewithlicenseandcash.The
numberofspotsavailableisthenumberofpre-registeredriderswhono-show.Feewillbeduethen
byriderswhoaregiventhosespotsatstandardfeerate(noadditional$10day-offee).
ChipTiming:Allathleteswillbechip-timed.Allridersmustbringtheirhelmetstoregistrationto
havetimingchipcheckedand/orattached.Finalresultsforallcategorieswillincludefinishtime
andsplitsforalllaps.OVCXriderswillusetheirOVCXchip.Ridersthathaven'tparticipatedinan
earlierOVCXracewillbeissuedanewchipatregistration.Chipwillattachontopofhelmet-
instructionswillbeatregistrationtent.

Officialpre-eventcourseinspectionopensFridayOctober30that2:00pm.Courseinspectionon
eventday(Nov.1)isonlypermittedduringeventsafterthelastrideroncoursehascrossedthe
finishlineontheirlastlap.Ridersinspectingthecourseareforbiddentopassariderwhoisracing
perUSAC8A5(f)andUCI12.1.040.12.1.
FridayActivities:Fridayhasbeenmadeintoaneasy"getsettledin"dayforracersandstaff.

DevouParkrunthroughatthesametime.Thesewilllastaround90minutes.
TherewillbeareceptionatDevouParkbeginningat6pmattheBehringer-CrawfordMuseum,100
meterssouthofthestartline.Foodandrefreshmentswillbeonhand,salesbenefittingthe

Allracersaresubjecttoanti-doping.Allracers,regardlessofcategory,mustcheckinat
registrationimmediatelyfollowingtheireventtoseeiftheyarerequiredtosubmittodoping
control.Dopingcontrolislocatedinadjacentparkingareatoregistration.Anti-dopingcontrolis
underUCIandUSADAregulationsaspartoftheUSACyclingRaceCleanprogram.
Anti-dopingcontrolsfortheContinentalChampionshipswillbeundertheauthorityoftheCADF
(CyclingAnti-DopingFoundation),withallcurrentUCIanti-dopingrulesapplying,including
selectionofridersandaswellastheselectedriders’responsibilitytopresentthemselvesatthe
DopingControlStation(DCS),amongothers.
Alistofriderswhohavebeenselectedforanti-dopingtestingwillbepostedattheconclusionof
theracebothatthefinishlineaswellasattheDCS,whichwillbelocatedintheparkinglot
adjacenttotheregistrationareaandwillbemarkedbysigns.Eventhoughchaperoneswill
attempttoidentifyandnotifyriderswhohavebeenselectedatthefinishline,eventuallyitisthe
rider’sresponsibilitytopresenthim-orherselfattheDCSnolaterthan30minutesafterthe
conclusionoftherace.Forridersobligatedtoattendprotocolarfunctions,the30-minutegrace
periodwillbeginattheendoftheofficialfunction(podium,pressconference,etc.).Riderswho
haveabandonedtheracebutwhohavebeenselectedfortestingareobligatedtopresent
themselvesattheDCSnolaterthan30minutesafterthefinish.
Allriderswhosenameappearsonthepostedlistarerequiredtopresentthemselveswiththeir
currentandvalidUCIlicense;ifsaidlicensedoesnotcarrytheracer’sphoto,heorsheMUST
presentanofficialphotoIDsuchasaDriver’sLicenseorPassport,togetherwiththeUCIlicense.
Ridershavetherighttobeaccompaniedbyanattendantoftheirchoice,buttheyalsomay
appearwithoutaccompaniment.Theymayalsobeaccompaniedbyaninterpreter,ifneeded.
Oncenotifiedbyachaperone,ridersareundertheauthorityanddirectsupervisionoftheCADF.
Allridersarekindlyaskedtopleasecooperatewiththevolunteerchaperones.

Devou(Sunday)CourseDescription:ThisisourseventhyearatDevouPark;sixthyearinthe
currentlocationintheampitheatrearea.The2.9kmcoursefeaturesaroadstartandfinish,witha
veryhillytrackwithlotsofoff-cambercombinationsofsweepingandtightcorners.Therewillbe
onesetofbarriersinanuphillsection.Pitwillbelocatedateastsideofcourse,andhasaccess
fromtwodirections.Communitypowerwasherswillbeavailablenexttopitarea.APitPassis
requiredtoaccessthepitsduringallUCIevents.NeutralServiceisavailableinthepitareafor
