To help ensure that you have the best possible Coachella experience, we have put together this guide that will tell you all you need to know. We encourage you to spend a few minutes reading this guide before arriving in Indio in order to answer any questions you may have, minimize any confusion that may arise upon your arrival, and ensure you have the most enjoyable and stress-free Coachella weekend possible. ABOUT YOUR WRISTBAND For the safety and comfort of festival attendees, staff and local residents, your Coachella pass is a high-security RFID-encrypted wristband that will be scanned upon entry to the festival and camping grounds. Everyone is required to wear a wristband within the one-mile perimeter of the site. Festivalgoers cannot pass through the police vehicle checkpoints without a properly applied wristband. * Wristband RFID 0000000 * FIRST NAME JOHN * LAST NAME DOE 1. Go to Coachella.com and log-in to (or create) your account. 2. Follow the instructions in the Wristband Activation panel. 3. Find the seven-digit Unique ID number on the underside of the RFID badge and enter it into the form, along with your first and last name. 4. Only activate the wristband you will be wearing. 1. Slip untightened wristband over your RIGHT wrist. 2. To tighten the wristband, hold onto the tail and slide the closure towards your wrist. DO NOT over-tighten the wristband. Leave ONE INDEX FINGER of space between your wrist and the wristband for comfort and security. Regardless of how you enter the Coachella area, your wristband will be checked before entering the perimeter by police and staff. NO ONE without a wristband may enter the one-mile perimeter surrounding Coachella. WRISTBAND IS REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES! • NO WRISTBAND = EJECTION! • POSSESION OF A TAMPERED WRISTBAND IS CAUSE FOR EJECTION! • NO REFUNDS IF WRISTBAND IS REMOVED OR TAMPERED WITH! • REPORT WRISTBAND ISSUES TO STAFF OR SECURITY IMMEDIATELY! Do not subject your sensitive RFID wristband to fire, cutting, excessive twisting, pulling, stretching or customization. SUBMIT Activating your wristband gives you access to enhanced customer services. You can also use the 2015 Coachella mobile app to activate your wristband (starting in April). WRISTBAND ONLINE Your wristband CANNOT BE LOOSENED once it is fitted to your wrist. You only get one shot at this, so we suggest that you seek the help of another person when putting on your wristband. ESSENTIALS ! Get yours at an ID Check booth before attempting to purchase or possess any alcohol. Wristband: Follow the instructions in this book and put on your wristband before heading to the festival. Photo Cameras: Consumer cameras are allowed. Pro cameras (defined by a detachable lens) are forbidden. Take a picture of your contact info for your camera in case it’s lost. Earplugs: Protect your hearing during three days of great music with earplugs that reduce volume without muffling the sound. Free pair included in your Welcome Box. (See pg. 29 for more details). ONLINE COACHELLA The festival is ALL AGES ESSENTIALS • NO Blankets • NO Outside Food or Beverages CAMPING • NO Audio Recording Devices TRAVEL ! NOT allowed (See page 18 for Campground rules.) MUSIC • Use sunscreen and SPF lip balm or you WILL burn. • Beware open-toed shoes in big crowds. Heels look nice, but will slow you down when walking across the field day and night. • Plan for delays when traveling to and from the festival. • Choose a physical meeting spot with your friends. DON’T rely on cellphones. • Timestamp your text messages since delivery delays can occur. • Hats might be a good idea for sun protection, but don’t block people’s view with a large hat. • Beware chafing. You’ll be doing a lot of walking around and it really hurts. • Pack wipes for a quick and refreshing clean off. • Fanny packs are perfect for packing all you’ll need. • Backpacks bother those around you. Leave it in the car, or check it in a locker when you enter (Locker info on pg. 25). Credit Card/ATM: New for 2015, Coachella vendors will accept all credit cards. ATM machines are also located throughout the venue. *Credit card payments courtesy of American Express®, the payment partner of Coachella. Extra Car Key: Hide a spare (not on the tire) or give one to a friend to hold. Comfortable Shoes: You are going to be walking, standing and dancing for three full days. Phone Charger: It’s BYOC at the on-site charging stations. Sun Protection: The desert sun can be brutal. A brimmed hat, UV-rated sunglasses and strong sunscreen are essential for protecting yourself from burning, dehydration and exhaustion. MUSIC The original works specially commissioned for Coachella 2015 were curated from a renowned group of established and up-and-coming artists, on par with the musical talent performing on the stages. ART Every year, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival strives to live up to its name by pushing the boundaries of dramatic, large scale, outdoor art installations. AMENITIES THE ART OF COACHELLA 25 Exchange empty bottles and cans for fresh water or other Coachella merchandise and experiences. Keep the site clean, recycle and stay hydrated all at once. (Learn more about our sustainability programs on pages 32-33.] Info Kiosks Need help? Have a question? Visit any of the kiosks located in the venue and campgrounds for immediate support from staff or security. Kiosk in camping hub is open 24 hours a day. Drink water and then more water. Free Water Refill Stations Fill any non-metal container at the free drinking water stations located throughout the venue. Souvenir water bottles are for sale at the Merchandise Tent or General Store, or bring your own refillable bottle (no metal). Bathrooms Over 1500 portable restrooms. Hundreds of new flushable toilets added to the lobby, near The Do Lab and Craft Beer Barn. Restroom trailers have flushing toilets and air-conditioning. Personal hand sanitizer, wet wipes, seat covers and toilet paper can be lifesavers. Shade Tents and other covered areas are located throughout the site. Coachella is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself, take a break and sit down. Desert heat, bright sunlight and too much booze can be a bad situation. (See pages 28-29 for details.) Lockers A limited number of lockers are available to rent in the main lobby. Book yours in advance at lockersonline.com. Be kind to Lou. Don’t leave vinyl records in the lockers. Charging Stations AC and USB outlets are located throughout the site—including camping, beer gardens and sponsor tents. Bring your own charger. Turn off 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to save your battery. ESSENTIALS Delicious food is available throughout the entire event, including many dietfriendly options. ONLINE WRISTBAND 10-FOR-1 Bottle & Can Recycling Food TRAVEL Bottled water at Coachella has been the same price since 1999. Beer, wine and cocktails are available in the designated beer gardens and VIP areas. You must be 21 or older (with ID and wearing a drinking wristband) to drink. CAMPING Bottled water will be sold for only $2 throughout the site and campgrounds. Items for sale include sunscreen, mints, lighters and hats. If you wear glasses, bring an extra pair. Keep spare contacts and contact solution in a marked container. The desert air is super dry. Be prepared if you have allergies. The dry grass and dust in the air can be a threat. Locksmith Locked your keys in your car? Call the on-site locksmith at (760) 835-4427. It’s easy to lose your car after a long day. Use a car finder app on your phone and write down directions to your ride. For ADA parking lot, check the map on page 17. First Aid/Medical Records! Stop by our on-site vinyl emporium to browse an amazing selection of new and used LPs, 45s, and more—all curated by Coachella staff. Look for Record Store Day exclusives on April 18th! Lost & Found Not to brag, but our Lost & Found totally kicks ass. Check the on-site booth or inquire about lost items after the festival by emailing a detailed description to lostandfound@coachella.com Pics of found items are usually posted after the event. You can turn in lost items at any Info Kiosk. Kiosk in Camping Center is open 24 hours. Make sure your contact info appears on your phone’s lock screen. Turn on GPS tracking app (if applicable) • EMTs are onsite through the weekend. There are three [3] First Aid areas in the venue and one in the campgrounds. If you have a medical emergency, contact Security Staff or an Info Kiosk for help. • Diabetics should identify themselves to security while waiting to enter the venue. Security will locate the medical folks adjacent to the main entrance who will assist you in storing and providing a secure area for insulin. • All medical prescriptions must be in labeled containers that match the holder’s proper ID. Medical-related items (food included) may be brought in provided a proper doctor note and/or prescription detailing the necessity of the item is onsite and available. • Sorry bro, Medical Marijuana Cards are not valid at Coachella. ONLINE WRISTBAND General Stores ADA Coachella is accessible to all guests with disabilities. The site is equipped with disabled parking spaces, designated wheelchair areas, Assistive Listening Systems, accessible restrooms and concession stands. ADA Access Center is located in the lobby. A full list of ADA services can be found at coachella.com/festival-info/ada ESSENTIALS Each year, the Coachella Boutique offers a curated collection of limited art, clothing, and collectibles. ADA TRAVEL It’s smart to buy the merchandise you want early. Items often sell out at night, and the lines get very long. All festival wristbands are welcome in the campgrounds. • An orderly taxi stand / Uber pickup is located at the corner of Ave 49 and Monroe. • Parent pickup is located in Lot 13 near the corner of Madison St. and Ave 52. Take the yellow path north across Ave 50 • The campgrounds will close on Monday at 10 a.m. • If you lose your keys or run out of gas, call the on-site locksmith at (760) 835-4427. An AAA tow truck is also on stand-by. • There is a gas station located about 3.6 miles away, at the corner of Monroe & Hwy. 111. • There are many restaurants on Hwy 111, both east and west of the festival site. • Lost something?
