McMahon is also active in his community. He is involved with the March of Dimes and was named Person of the Year at the March of Dimes Lake Norman Commercial Real Estate Testimonial in 2006. He was instrumental in starting the Brawley Youth Athletic Association Midget Football League in Mooresville, North Carolina, where her resides.
