Creative Minds in Dialogue: the Relationship between C. G. Jung and Erich Neumann
A Symposium at Pacifica Graduate Institute
Ladera Lane Campus, Santa Barbara, CA 93108
June 24-26, 2016
The recent publication of the correspondence between C.G. Jung and Erich Neumann has brought
renewed interest in both the creative relationship between Jung and Neumann, and Neumann’s
contributions to Analytical Psychology. Months before his own death, Jung mourns Neumann as his
“friend and companion on the way,” elsewhere saying that he only had two friends, Victor White and
Erich Neumann.
The symposium will celebrate the unique contributions of Jung and Neumann, with original
presentations. Murray Stein and Riccardo Bernardini from Eranos will be among the several prominent
presenters, on topics ranging from creativity, art, Jung/Neumann and their impact on culture and the postmodern world, to anima and the great mother, and God, good and evil. The presenters will also lead
discussions, with the participation of the attendees.

Psychopathy Within offers forensic, Jungian
and personal perspective
Announcing a new book release from Chiron Publications Psychopathy Within offers a new way of conceptualizing and defining psychopathy that is a convergence of the author’s divergent professional experiences as a forensic psychologist and a Jungian‐
oriented psychotherapist and her personal life experiences over decades as a Jungian student and analysand. When her father died, the story of his life and their relationship ignited her curiosity about the meaning of psychopathy, enriching and amplifying what she already felt she knew from a wide range of experiences, study, and observations. The result is an invitation to explore this charged topic, psychopathy, with a new perspective that holds the potential for growth and healing. At the heart of the story is the power of eros—the devastating ramifications of its absence and the tremendous healing energy of its presence. “Eve Maram’s Psychopathy Within brings a cogent synthesis of Jungian and forensic perspectives, uniquely presented both clinically and from personal experience,” says Robert Hinshaw, Ph.D., training analyst and faculty member of the C.G. Jung Institute of Zurich. “A well‐
researched approach to psychopathy is followed by a vision for potential healing, providing hope and useful advice, and making this a valuable resource not only for clinicians, but anyone confronted with a psychopathic situation.” About Eve Maram, PsyD. Journal of Analytical Psychology
XIVth International Conference
Dissociation: Trauma and the Self
Thursday 20 April - Sunday 23 April 2017
The Roosevelt Hotel, New York City
We cordially invite you to join us in downtown
Manhattan for this, our XIVth international residential
conference, though our first to be held in New York
City. Dissociation is a theme with both a rich Jungian
history and a general contemporary pertinence. Jung’s
early interest in complexes and subsequent focus on
archetypes, particularly their inclination toward
personification and autonomy, led the way in studies of
dissociation. More recently, conceptualizations of an
unrepressed unconscious are making an important
contribution to this ongoing debate and have again
brought Jungian perspectives on the ‘not yet conscious’
to the fore.

Eve Maram is a clinical and forensic psychologist and a Jungian‐oriented psychotherapist in private practice in Orange, CA. She is currently pursuing Jungian analytic training through the Inter‐Regional Society of Jungian Analysts (IRSJA), C.G. Jung Institute of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Alchemical Summer Intensive
SPLENDOR SOLIS
Joe McNair, Jungian Analyst
“I am the way and even road,
Who passes here without rest,
Will find a goodly life abode,
And in the end…be ever blessed.”
The Alchemists work on a Matter, which they hold to be at once
Alive and Sacred, and in their labors they pursue the
transformation of Matter, its perfection and its transmutation.
The Splendor Solis (1582) was a bridge between the Rosarium
(1550) and the Rosicrucian period. It is a beautiful and ornate
presentation of late 16th Century that gave rise to a wide menu
of illuminated works.
The Splendor Solis shows us the TRANSFORMATIVE
PROCESSES involving the INCARNATION OF SPIRIT INTO
MATTER through the process of DEATH and REBIRTH.
Beautifully depicted in 22 plates is the process and main
problem of Incarnation of outer illuminations that will become
inner realities in the Matter of one’s own psychology.
