non perishable foods, or by
contacting the village and
registering to build your own
basket!

want to register for your own

Performance
Reminder
If you didn’t catch the last issue of
our newsletter, two B2D students Miss Grace Wiltgen and Miss
Jackie Bechtold have auditioned
for and won parts in the
prestigious Moscow Ballet’s Great
Russian Nutcracker! They will be
performing in the Sunday 3:00pm
show on December 6th at the
Rosemont Theatre and would
love seeing you there!
We’ve had some hiccups with our apparel supplier as
they’ve undergone some structural changes in their
company, but we should very soon have our order forms for
this years round of Spirit Wear orders. We will have some
classic B2D pieces, as well as some new items to be
featured such as car decals and pullover sweaters. Spirit
wear makes for great gifts, and is one of the best ways to
help spread the word and support B2D so we may go on to
serve future generations for many years to come!
B2D Spirit Wear Going
On Sale
Orders will be ready for pick up the week of December
14th.

Say hi to Mr. Dean!
We are closed on the

Dean Radzik has been a teacher at the legendary Drum Pad in downtown
Palatine for over 20 years. As we say our final farewells to the retiring
Drum Pad, we are also saying hello to one of their expert musicians and
teachers. You guessed it: Mr. Dean Radzik! We can’t express how excited
we are to have him join our staff of teachers, and how grateful we are to
Jim Streich at the Drum Pad for bringing him to us. Check out his full page
feature below to learn more about him. You can sign up for drum lessons
with Mr. Dean by contacting us here or at the info above!

Featured Artist of The Month:
Dean Radzik
There’s Dean!
Dean Radzik is a graduate of the Berklee School of Music in Boston and has
been teaching at the Drum Pad for over 20 years. Before attending Berklee,
Dean studied privately throughout grade and high school with the Drum Pad’s
owner, Jim Streich. Dean’s educational book, Lead Sheet Interpretation, was
published shortly after his graduation from Berklee.
Dean has played in a wide variety of talented original and eclectic bands
including, Who’s This Mary (Brit Pop) where they toured throughout the Midwest
and performed two tours of England. He also recorded the drums on their
critically acclaimed album, Writhe and Shine. Dean’s creative approach to
drumming added just the right spice to the band Mojo and the Bayou Gypsies
(New Orleans Cajun). He also performed for several years with Unky J (Art
Rock), performing their “At Midnight” show at the Organic Theater with the
Improv Olympics. Dean has toured the U.S. with the world renown Jellyeye
Drum Theatre (percussion/dance/conceptual performance troupe), receiving
stellar reviews in the press as well as from appreciative audiences nationwide.
Dean has performed at the Vic, Metro, Empty Bottle, the Old Town School of
Folk Music and many more large local venues. Currently, Dean plays drums and
percussion throughout Chicago with the traditional country band, Dirty Green.
Dean has a great love of jazz, mallets and percussion, as well as all creative
styles of music and drumming. He always strives to instill that appreciation in his
students.
